Camp NaNoWriMo (or 'Where I've been') · 12:37pm Jul 18th, 2016

Hey all, it's about time I did another blog!

I've been writing! I'm doing CampNaNoWriMo (that's a mouthful) this month - which is basically another National Novel Writing Month but less formal and with more freedom. So I'm not focusing one novel this time (I'm saving that urban fantasy idea for November) but working on various projects to make up the 50k goal. Projects include...

-Finishing Second Sunset (which is getting a rename): Currently 14/~18 chapters - not much more to go! :pinkiehappy: I'm gonna go ahead and finish it, then go through and polish, THEN publish the whole thing over maybe a couple of weeks. So you'll be seeing it on the site hopefully by the end of this year

-Blog posts (for my podcast blog): Not lots to report on that front. Blog posts is blog posts.

-A Slice of Flutterdash: Still trying to get the rest of Season 2 finished. It's going slow, but Eddy13 is kindly helping me out with ideas, so I'm getting there :twilightblush:

-Applequest(WT), my pony JRPG game: Yeah, that's still going, haha! While I can't directly add work on this to my wordcount - because it's mostly scripting, artwork, fixing bugs, making monsters/skills/cutscenes etc. - I'm doing approximate numbers depending on dev time I'm spending on it. If you're curious, I'd say we've got between 1hr 30m - 2hrs of quality* content now if you're going straight through, and 4/7 playable characters in the party. It's been really fun, and the world, story, characters and mechanics are all shaping up nicely!

Not in any hurry to finish this one. It'll probably be a couple of years at least before I'm ready to put it out there. But this one's more about the journey than the destination - I'll be quite happy if I can just share what I've got with family and friends (maybe potential employers if I tweak it a little bit so it's not as blatantly pony :raritywink: ) The point is that it's a load of fun to develop, and I've more than once gotten carried away with a playtest and lost a couple of hours, haha!

*Disclaimer: I didn't say what level of quality... :derpytongue2:

-And finally, some fanfic centred around an ongoing Dresden Files tabletop RPG I'm playing: These are just short stories centred around my character and the others in the game world. We're a pack of werewolves in modern day Swindon (Wiltshire, UK), smuggling magical artefacts, eating monsters, burning down various buildings (sometimes by accident) and generally getting in over our heads :pinkiehappy: Really fun to write, and our GM is rad and encouraging, and she's actually working some of them into the plot which is so awesome :rainbowkiss: So yeah, excited about these most of all.

-

Lots of different projects! They're all coming along quite nicely. And that's mostly what I've been doing lately, since college/uni has finished until I get my official results later this month. Keeping on with the usual stuff as well - podcasting, guitar, gaming etc. And looking forward to the end of the hiatus! The next episode sounds really interesting, even when I just knew about the title alone :scootangel: Can hardly wait to see what they've got in store for us for the second half.

Anyways, that's my update. Sorry I don't have as many pony stories on the go as I used to, there's just a lot of other stuff that's moved my priorities around. (Oh nooo, I'm that guy!) Haha! But I'm still around as always, and there is pony stuff going on, it's just a little more low-key.

Hope you're all doing well! Talk to ya later,

~UB
