My Pokeman GO adventures have reached peak Watch Dogs. I took down a gym by myself, on foot, while hiding from patrolling trainers in vehicles. · 4:06am Jul 11th, 2016

(Exhibit A: Me as a Pokemon Trainer and not at all Aiden Pearce from Watch Dogs)

So today to reward myself for finishing my newest chapter of "The World Inside Aurora Ray," I decided to take a walk and look for Pokemon in Pokemon GO. I thought "the school is close by. Let me see if they have Pokemon."

Ten minutes later: "You know I could walk a little further. There were some Pokemon further away last night."

Ten minutes after that: "These church pokestops sure do give a lot of items."

Ten minutes after that: "I have reached the town gyms."

(Exhibit B: Me looking for the best ways to take down the town gyms)

My friend and I had seen earlier today that someone took down our pokemon at the local gyms. I was gonna get those gyms back. But I wasn't in a car, and I had no way to charge the phone which is a problem because the game eats up battery life like rare candy. So I walked to a part near the gym structure and sat behind it, partially obscured, because the last thing trainers think is that there's someone on foot since they always see cars patrolling the gyms. I took the gym down 2000 prestige (aka gym strength) to zero with a level 474 CP Pidgeot (named Spitfire <3) and in the ten seconds it took for me to heal her, the opposing team came back and reset their Pokemon. I saw their truck parked in front of the gym itself, facing away from me. HOW EVEN.

I walked over to the next gym close by and stood in an alcove of the building as I took down their prestige from about 10-12k to about 8k in only 10 minutes. I saw cars passing by as I kept to the alcove. I wondered if they were confused that their gym registered an attack and they didn't see a car parked nearby.

At some point in the late afternoon, while walking to a local pokestop (where you get items from on your map by standing next to them and activating them), i saw a car that had been parked at the pokegym move really quickly from its parking spot and start heading my way. I walked quickly around the police station and ducked behind it as they passed by.

I totally felt like AIden Pearce from Watch Dogs in that awesome multiplayer hacking game, where you enter another players game while in-progress and start hacking them. They can't tell who you are out of the crowd and have to find you before you finish hacking them and win the match. Gosh, it was fun. But being on foot, meant that I couldn't recharge my battery, so I finished what I was doing at the second gym and started to head back when I saw the car headlights peeking out from off to the side of the building.

I ducked back into the alcove and pushed myself against the wall, waiting for the car to coast by. I saw it far down the street about ten seconds later at a Pokestop and then walked out casually and crossed the street, walking home.

Next time, Team Valor. Next time...

News! Pokemon Go taking over the world.
I, for one, welcome our new augmented reality overlords

I haven't played it.

Watch Dogs has a lot of good parts, but my friend who played through the game said the story doesn't quite work...

It's pretty trippy how well it works :P Very addictive.

4085017 I meant Pokemon Go, but I haven't played Watch Dogs either.

How is it overall, seeing that its hit about 3 different news places, but well, seems very anti-tablet over phone?

It's still got a lot of bugs in it, which has been very frustrating, and I"m sure the fact that the servers constantly go down has been highest on the game maker's priority list. :/

4086560 I hope you do enjoy, sadly its very anti-tablet, which I have, so outside spoofing and rooting my tablet. It will be something I have to miss.

When society collapses over here in the States, they'll probably move it to tablet soon after :P

4086605 It would cut down heavily on the spoofing apps out there for folks if they did.
