I've Been Pushed... · 1:44am Jul 11th, 2016
There have been lots of people who, out of the kindness of their heart (or sheer boredom), have chosen to read Fullmetal Pony and drop a line. Seeing those comments, questions, and demands to know when the next update would be have warmed my heart and pushed me to work a little more each day on chapter three's segments. I've made steady progress on parts one, two, and four, plus titles for all four segments.
So...would it be presumptuous of me to cheer when I see this on the homepage?
Number two? On the popular stories list? Hot damn.
I'd like to think it's our combined efforts (my writing style, TwiBest's ideas and motivation, Spirit Seer's criticism) that have led to this kind of reception so early in the storyline. I make no excuses for the delays, real-life issues notwistanding, so seeing such a positive turnout while I'm working through the next part is a major surge of feel-good for me! And while I will never claim sole credit for the story - I mean come on, it's an adaptation inspired by a video based on two popular shows - I feel so much gratification to see a result like this. Sure, it's not the Featured List, but it's literally right next to it, so hey!
Thanks, everyone. This kind of positive push is what I crave as I writer. And I'm sure that TwiBest and Seer are grateful as well, since they're often waiting just as long as everyone who has allowed FMP to join their watch lists. If and when I ever make a push for Patreon (still a pipe dream at this point), I hope my skill and style will be enough to make up for a long delay between entries.
Speaking of entries, it may be early, but an update wouldn't do any harm. This is a 'cap from the drafting page TwiBest and I have for FMP. The word count values aren't final, but they can give a direction of where things are headed...
(For the record, chapter 3.2 is the segment I'm currently working on. 3.1 and 3.4 are already drafted, whereas 3.3 is still a synopsis.)
I think it would be presumptuous of me to declare a weekend where I can expect to update, as I still need to send the draft to Seer (and hopefully fill those pre-reader spots...hint hint...) and work in any revisions she deems necessary. However, I think tossing along something like this is all well and good. And who knows, maybe I'll start dropping little teasers here and there like I did with RwR back in the day.
That's it! I really only logged on to FIMfic to pass time while on a god-awful conference call my friend wanted me to join, so now it's back to applying for jobs, working on FMP, and learning how to use MS Excel.

P.S.: Thanks again, everyone. I mean it; I'm so stoked right now. Ha~
