Story Time: The Last Petal · 7:16pm Jul 10th, 2016

"What is this?" asked Rainbow Dash as Twilight gave her a rose. It was on a special plate, covered by a pristine glass lid.
"This Rainbow," Said Twilight, lifting her own rose, protected much the same as Rainbow's. "Is my challenge to you."
"A Challenge? I don't get it." Said Rainbow looking at the flowers in confusion.
Twilight let out a mischievous smile before leaning in close to her friend. "I've enchanted these roses to loose their petals at the exact same time." She leaned back from Rainbow and held up her flower, "So here's my challenge. As soon as the last petal falls from the flower, the first one to Rarity's shop in Manehatan wins."
Pushing the rose away from her face, Rainbow began circling Twilight. "So, your saying that as soon as the last pedal leaves the flower... the race begins?"
"Exactly." Said Twilight offering Rainbow her rose.
Taking the rose, Rainbow smiled, "It's on."
One month had past, and only two pedals had left the flower.
"When she said the race would start when the last petal fell, I didn't think it would take this long." Said Rainbow as she looked at the flower.
Month after month, pedal after pedal, Rainbow soon got caught up in training, completely forgetting her challenge with Twilight. That was until a year later, Spike knocked on Rainbow's door.
"Hey Spike! What's up?" She said.
"I got a letter for you, It's from Twilight." Spike replied.
"A letter? From Twilight?" Rainbow questioned. "Why would Twilight send me a letter?"
"I don't know, all I know she's out of town."
Rainbow paused, and for the first time in months, remembered to look at her rose. Every petal had fallen to the plate. "Crap," she said as she took hold of the letter. Inside, was a moving image of Twilight gloating.
