Good Pokemon Strategies I know! · 10:02pm Jun 29th, 2016

Clawitzer:
Already Clawitzer is extremely powerful with its ability Mega Launcher, increasing all "Pulse" moves and Aura Sphere. But what if I told you Mega Launcher affected ALL Pulse moves, including Heal Pulse? Heal Pulse's effect under Mega Launcher is now 75% healing instead of the regular 50%. This means that along with Clawitzer being a powerful special attacker, it can also be a double battle healer. In fact, it is quite possibly the best healer you can ever hope for in Pokemon, outclassing Blissey, and even Audino! Fancy that, huh?

Sigilyph:
I used to hate Sigilyph until I realized how useful it can be. Already it has access to Magic Guard which negates all statuses and field effects, like Paralysis and Stealth Rock, but what if I told you Sigilyph can be OP as hell? It has access to Calm Mind, which increases its special attack and special defense, and Cosmic Power, which increases its defense and special defense. It also has access to Stored Power, which increases in power the more positive stat changes the Pokemon has. Stored Power is a Psychic-type move, and combining that with Sigilyph's STAB, its speed and the fact it's the bearer of the highest special attack of any Pokemon able to use Calm Mind, Cosmic Power and Stored Power together, and you have a beast feared by the gods. Oh, and if you want even more power, slap a Life Orb onto it as well.

Exploud and Meloetta:
While certainly not the best Pokemon in terms of stats, Exploud has a saving grace; double battles. Its ability is Soundproof, which negates all sound-based moves. For the longest time I have wondered what purpose this would have if you couldn't know what moves were and weren't sound-based. And then it hit me! Meloetta can learn both Relic Song, which has a 10% (20% since Meloetta has Serene Grace) of putting all Pokemon to sleep, and Perish Song, which forces all Pokemon who hear it to faint in three turns. Both of these moves Exploud, and others if you really want, to not be affected.

Volcarona:
This one is basic, but if you can pull it off you'll be unstoppable. Volcarona is the most powerful Pokemon that can learn Quiver Dance. If you can time it just right and pull off a few Quiver Dances, both your Bug Buzz and Fiery Dance moves will be ultra-powerful. Not to mention Fiery Dance has a 50% chance of increasing its special attack stat. Here's where it gets crazy, however! Slap a Life Orb onto it for even more power, but also put Roost on it as well. This means at the cost of one turn, Volcarona will be back in action and ready to use its powerful moves again with almost no consequences from the Life Orb.

Eviolite:
There are some Pokemon that, when given Eviolite, are utterly broken. For example, we have the mega tank Dusclops himself who can still evolve into Dusknoir. Give it some Eviolite and it'll tank more attacks than even Dusknoir could. Then give it Shadow Sneak for that STAB, Trick Room to always move first, and Shadow Punch because why not? Porygon2 and Magneton work in the same way that they have great special attack and decent defense and special defense which are increased with the Eviolite. Then we have Murkrow, which gets a defensive boost and the ability Prankster, which we'll get into later. Finally, Scyther has a lot of attack power, but only with Scizor do you get the defensive boost thanks to its Steel typing. But thanks to the Eviolite, you don't have to worry about that!

Klefki:
Not sure if this one needs any explanation, but I'm sure a few of you are at least curious. Klefki is one of the best Prankster users Pokemon has to offer. It has good defensive stats and a fair amount of offensive power behind it as well. But its ability is where it truly shines! Prankster gives priority +1 to all status moves, meaning more often than not Klefki will be moving first whenever it uses a status move. Spikes, Thunder Wave, you name it and it'll go first! Any combination of moves are helpful in situations like this, but I personally enjoy using Crafty Shield, Thunder Wave and Spikes along with one offensive move, preferably a STAB move.

Quagsire:
More like "Swagsire", amirite? LOLOLOL!! In all seriousness though, there's a reason why Quagsire is put in the OU tier of competitive play. While not the most powerful Pokemon in the world, it makes up for it by having access to the ability Unaware, which ignores opponents stat changes. It also has access to Recover, which heals it, Infestation, which traps opponents until they've fainted, Muddy Water, which has a 30% chance of lowering the opponent's accuracy, and Curse, which sacrifices speed for added attack and defense power. Not that Quagsire was winning any awards in speed anyway. This means you'll be pissing people off more than anything else. For these reasons alone, Quagsire is fit for both single and double battle play, and if you can get past its admittedly poorer-than-average stats, it'll definitely be worth your time.

That's all for now, but if you have any strategies you want to share with anyone, please post them in the comments below. And feel free to use any of the strategies here! Hell; I don't own them, so why should you not be able to use them simply because I stated them. That's dumb. So by all means, use them to your heart's content!

Until then, this is SuperKamek signing off!

Any advice for a Blaziken?

4057041
Speed Boost, Bulk Up, Blaze Kick, and either Wide Lens or Blazikenite.

4057052 Alright. Mine has a speed boost as a passive, Blaze kick for sure, got Blazikenite... Would Shadow Claw work since it is super effective against psychic types?

4057057
Good type coverage is nice to have, so go for it!

4057060 Alright, thanks. Now, with Bulk up, Blaze Kick, and Shadow Claw using three spots for moves, one move remains. Any thoughts?

4057072
Hmm... Try combining High Jump Kick with a Wide Lens. It'll almost never miss, and it does massive damage!

4057078 Interesting combo. Now, what about if I use a Blazikenite? Any recommendations then? :twilightblush:

Really any good Fighting-type move would do. Brick Break, Sky Uppercut, Power-up Punch, to name a few.

My cousin actually had a good one. He had a Breloom with Poison Heal, with a toxic orb. Good stats, I think, and it healed every turn leaving your leftovers for another. Also works with Gliscor.
