Tell me, what do you live for? Is it for work? For study? Or is it for the important things? Pleasure, art, friends, family, love? Do you live to work? Or do you work to live?

I could go for a walk!

    I’m not dead yet!

I’m pretty sure at least. My doctor recently told me that I was the sickest patient she’s ever had and that I almost died in late 2017. Luckily I’m getting better now.

I haven’t been on here in like... 6-7 months or so. Even though I have some stuff that I wrote and watnot.

    Every Hallmark Christmas Romance Ever

My dad loves Hallmark Christmas movies, even when it isn't anywhere near Christmas time. I've started to notice a pattern with some of them.

Tell me if you've seen this one before...

    Finally

Well, I finally got another chapter of White Lie finished. It isn't even very long. However, I've got a new schedule that I'll be keeping that will help with getting chapters out on a more frequent basis.

Congratulations to Britain · 1:48am Jun 28th, 2016

Looking at the distribution of the vote among different age groups was very interesting. I think I've come up with a good way to explain what happened.

In my opinion, the decentralization of power is a good thing. It's a very, very hard thing, but it's also a good thing. For example, the countries that pulled out from under the rule of the Roman Empire/Catholic Church in the way back when days. I imagine that there was a similar freak out when that occurred, people concerned about the broken ties with some of their greatest allies and resources.

It is scary. Just like moving out of the house when you've come of age and now have to take care of yourself. Yes you have to work harder, yes you don't get to enjoy the free rent or food or other amenities any more, but you now have a lot more control over your own life and can make decisions for yourself, and find a better life if you want to.

This comparison works on many levels. Notice that the older generations tended to vote to leave and the younger ones to stay? The younger generation doesn't feel prepared and has no idea how to take care of themselves, while the older generation wants to control their own life now and is tired of living in the EU's house.

I have confidence that Britain will be perfectly okay. Sure, you're going to have to live in a tiny apartment for a while, yeah it's going to take some time to figure out how to stand on your own two legs, but in the end, I think you'll be perfectly okay, and not only that, but I think that you'll thrive on your new found freedom. It'll take time, but it'll be awesome.

So I give my congratulations, and I wish you luck. This is a brave step, moving out on your own, and I'm not going to say that your fear of failure is unwarranted. That's a normal feeling.

But you got dis. I believe in you.

Agreed Britain was fine (and ruled the world) before the EU and they'll be fine without it

Oh, I wish it were that simple. (Declaration before I go on: I voted Remain, and never had any doubt I would.) There's no such thing in Europe as being "out on your own" -- our economies are far too interconnected. There is no country of any size here that doesn't contribute to the EU in some way -- even Switzerland does it. You don't get access to the single market otherwise, and that would be economic suicide, a bit like Canada suddenly deciding it doesn't want tariff-free trade with the US any more.

Also, Britain as we knew it last week is probably dead. It's more than likely that Scotland will now secede from the UK in order to stay in the EU.

Personally, I look at most political discussions and realize that they are a lot simpler than most people make them out to be. Indeed their economies are very interconnected, but is that a good thing? While yes it does give you stability and alliances, it also restricts your ability to act for yourself, to make important decisions that you'd be unable to make otherwise.

So yes, I understand, it is scary, and things will be quite unstable for a bit, but I'm certain it'll work out. Growing pains await.

You got dis.

4052868 Sure, something will work out. We're not doomed to disappear into a black hole. But leaving the European single market absolutely does not have majority support among the electorate, even among Leavers, so it's not going to happen. And if we want to keep that access, we can't simply pull up the drawbridge on immigration or regulation. There'll be some things we can loosen, but acting unilaterally in the way the US or China might is not possible. We're not a large enough country.

Leaving the world market is pretty impossible, and not recommended, but you don't have to be part of the EU to stay in it. Restricting immigration is something that Britain will have to figure out for itself. I have my own opinion on it, but I'll keep it to myself for now.

empires and nations rise and fall that is an other cycle of human idiocy. the UK had not benefited since joining from EU what-so-ever, and now the UK is on his own now and they are going to make some major changes to their policies.

Apparently, a lot of the politicians' promises to encourage leaving didn't actually happen. So yeah.
