Hello readers!

Hello all! This is my first blog post ever, anywhere, but I wanted to get word out to everyone who reads my story, so here I am. ~yay.

Don't fret! This is not anything bad, or at least I don't think it is. Not a hiatus, not a cancellation, none of that. More informative than anything.

I just wanted to thank everyone who has read my story, and especially those who have commented and rated. Your support and praise has helped me through some tough times lately, and I am working harder on the story and improving my writing more than ever!

...Which brings me to the reason I am writing this. I wanted to let everyone know that, while I have published this so that everyone can read it, the story is incomplete, and to be honest, will likely go through minor rewrites. Sometimes even major ones. I wanted you to know that, while I do proofread it 5+ times myself, and have 1-2 pre-readers go through it before I even consider publishing it for public eyes, this is still my first story/written work in 7-8 years. Simply put, I am rusty and inexperienced, and am learning as I go. Sometimes this means making changes.

The biggest example of this is why there has not been another chapter lately. For those who haven't noticed, the story now has a cover picture! Since I have no fan-art or know anyone who does it (but more importantly, since I had a picture in my head that had to come out, just like the story...), I made the cover picture myself. This took a few weeks, mostly because:

a) I have not done any art since around the same time I last wrote anything,
b) I made the picture in Flash, because I wanted it to look like the show, and
c) My version of Flash is so old that it was from way back when Macromedia still owned it. Registered until 2002!

However, this put the story on the back-burner for a week or two. I didn't forget about it though, oh no. I made good use of the time and fleshed the story out in my head. I think at this point, I have every major and minor event planned out in advance. It's getting there that takes time. It was during this time that I had a brainstorm. It may come as a surprise, but I had always planned a sequel for this current story, but I only had a few rough ideas for what I wanted to do with it. I knew there were some things that just were not going to come up in this story. When I was driving home from work, around midnight, it just hit me. My head filled with ideas and suddenly the entire story wrote itself in front of me. I barely managed to pay attention to the rest of the drive home, I was so overwhelmed. As soon as I got in the door, I wrote everything down, and voila! The sequel is outlined, almost in as much detail as my current story.

Around the same time, I submitted what I had for review on Ponychan. One of the major goals in my life right now is to write a story that gets onto Equestria Daily, and I want this story to be it. (Ideally, but I am braced for failure. I am very aware of my limitations) I had been delaying (procrastinating out of nervousness really) submitting it until I had the cover picture complete. Once it was done, I submitted my story for review. Unfortunately, the review was rather negative, and even recommended completely removing an entire interlude. Now, this could not happen, as the events in said interlude must be in the story, and the way he wants me to rewrite it just isn't working in my head, story-wise. Also, he brought up several points that I had not noticed, and I agreed should be modified.

These two events combined have merged into one thing: I need a rewrite on several sections of my story. It will not be a complete revamp, at least, I do not think it will, but I've been working on ideas to improve the issues brought up in the review, as well as tie in the sequel better. I hope to create an even better story than I had before.

Fear not, those of you who have already read the current work. The additions will, for the most part, not affect the overall story in any huge, major way (at least, I hope not!). The last thing I want to do is alienate my few fans, and make them re-read the story over and over as I change it.

I will admit this does worry me a little. Most comments and ratings I have received have been overwhelmingly positive, and I don't want to risk losing any readers over this. On the other hoof, I really would like to have my story be of a quality that could be seen on Equestria Daily. Its been a tough choice, but I think, for my story to be the best it can be (with my abilities), I need to make these modifications, both now, and maybe in the future as well.

If you are of the opinion that I should not publish it at all until I feel the story is complete, please tell me in the comments. If this is how my readers feel, I will take my story down until the day it is done. I would rather not do this, as I love feedback, and your comments and ratings raise my spirits every time I read them, but if it bugs you to read a story that may change slightly as later chapters are written, please, let me know.

I hope that this is an incomplete story does not put anyone off. I fully intend to finish this story. One way or another, it will be coming out of my head. I just want it to be the best that it can be, and sometimes, even after going over it as many times as I do, that means changing it after the fact. I promise, that when I mark this story as complete, it will be as good as I can make it, and well worth the read, hopefully even more-so than it has been so far (Raters and commenters, I'm looking at you <3 Thanks again for all the support!).
