Holy crap, I finished writing something. · 1:20am Jun 20th, 2016

I know, right?

So, for the first time in possibly years, I stayed in both days this weekend... Sat down to write... And I finished the one-shot! Funnily enough, it's not The Midnight Ride(which I had mentioned previously), but a different one altogether, a slight re-telling of the Nightmare Moon battle from the first season. Consider it an affectionate parody of two things I like that I almost never have the opportunity to write about: grimlight stories, and over-the-top Gainax-style action.

Anyways, I'll chime in later on with a longer post; I know this is a pretty short blogpost with very little fanfare, but I can't brain right now to save my life! Soon as the story gets approved, go check it out, and let me know what you think!

Presenting: Hero of the Day!

Maybe Trixie can go to heaven now?

Heaven is anywhere Trixie is currently at, naturally!

It's funny, I was just thinking about your story the other day
because I never stop thinking about your story

You did things. You made a blog post.

You're trying to get my hopes up.

I won't fall for it. I've been hurt before!

Oh nice. New content from Gravedigger is definitely good news. Unexpected good news, even.

I can't really say more than that until I see the story, so here's hoping it gets approved quickly.

50 months. It's been 50 months.

You think you can get my hopes up so easily, you bastard? At that time I looked up to you, aspired to be you, and your unapproachable view numbers and features were my Everest. One of the first authors I consistently aspired to follow in the footsteps of, like PaleoPrints.

In those fifty months I have dragged myself bodily through the carnage and the dreck and fought bloody battles for the feature box. I had fought to equal, nay, surpass you! From those battles I clawed myself a small gathering of followers, greater and greater until they would come to eclipse yours. But every day was bitterly marked by your absence. I could not defeat a rival who would not show his face. I could not defeat a rival who I could never fight. And so, bereft of challenge, I sank hopelessly into your shadow.

Now, now I see you show yourself again at last.

Well come then. Bring the metaphors and the similies to the fray. Bring your best shipping and may your character arcs strike true this day.

Let us meet at last, after all this time, and test your mettle against those you so inspired.

Have at thee!

The story might be on break, but Twixie marches on in our hearts and minds.

Mods might be asleep. It was a holiday...

Can't you see? I never left, Numbers... Whenever Twilight got herself into the most ridiculous farcial situations, just so we could watch her try to Twilight her way out of them... I was there. Whenever Twilight bumbled her way through a crush with all the subtlety of a tungsten rod dropped from Low Earth Orbit... I was there. Whenever Twilight was gifted rule and domain over the Ponyville tri-state area... I was cackling like an idiot all throughout.

I'm the one playing catch-up now, but I think FimFiction has been left in pretty good hands in my absence.

Man.

You were one of the first pony writers I read, and I think the first really good one I laid my eyes upon. I stil quote Ballad as one of the go-to romances on the site. You'd been gone for so long that I had always assumed you were never coming back, and then I'm linked this blog. Can't say I'm not extremely happy, and can't say I'm not looking forward to that new story of yours.

So yeah. Welcome back, mate.

4035860 oh yes, a shiny new thing. And yet... The others!

I would not have predicted this.

Awesome to hear from you though, and good on you for finishing a story :)

Well, I might've disappeared for a little bit from the writing part of the fandom, but trust me, I was totally lurking all over the place, reading fics at work instead of working, making sure the Shipping flowed strong. Still though, thank you for the kind words! I'm honestly always surprised to see the amount of people that still remember Ballad so fondly!

I thrive on unpredictability... It's a trait I exhibit constantly, almost on a schedule.

I always knew you still had sleeper cells scattered all over the place... Will your dark armies rise once more?
