Half a million published words in A Soot Covered World. :pinkiehappy:
Four and a half years of work (so far: a bit over 10% of my life). :pinkiecrazy:
An average of ~300 words a day.

That's really rather silly.

To all those who've read/commented/followed: you've kept me going. In a very real sense, this is all your fault.

Thank you!

I'm sorry/You're welcome!
...
Oh goodness. I've spent about a third of my life writing fan fiction. :twilightoops:

And I've spent the same ammount reading it.

Not much else to say other than to thankyou for your outstanding writing, and keep up the good work!

..... holy shit! I am so used to being the oldest person around in Brony groups.. thanks for making that not the case here.

Also four and half years.... damn...... and still going strong, massive props... and seriously.. thank YOU for constantly putting in all this hard work making such a truly, truly amazing story and sharing it with us.

So, is that the overarching name that you will give to the trilogy?
And I know that it will be a trilogy, because these last two chapters seem to be arching toward a significant climax very, very soon, but the war will be barely beginning.

BTW: how long until you open a group for this story?

The pleasure is ours.

I'm in the top 1% of those age distributions!
Glad to be of service; I'm still faintly amazed that folks like the thing enough to have followed this far.

Sobering, isn't it?
If I do the calculation based on my average write-rate (including editing), it works out to be about 260 days at 8 hours a day. Just think about all the money I could have earned had I applied myself to something actually profitable.

Nah, who am I kidding. I'd have just frittered it away on computer games and other people's books.

It's certainly long enough to make it a trilogy, but I'm not sure what the next break-point will be, or if there would be enough stuff to fill another book of similar length. After all, we're talking about a war in the nuclear age.

Group... hmm. Not sure what the advantage would be.

Edit: yes, that's the name of the series. At the moment I see it containing Wasp, Final, A Method to His Madness (unpublished and set in the show's future) and a bunch of 'shorts' linking them all.

4031793 Hey why wouldn't people love this? Again your writing is freking amazing. Few early issues but you just keep getting better.

And yeah, hard to see a third book out of what is left given it would just be nothing but fighting and.. sure you COULD make enough stuff, and it would be awesome, but might be dragging things out a bit to far. That said, don't end to soon on our account... but also don't let it drag. Really do want to see the Dog-Pony alliance start to work out, the two sides starting to learn to work together... before everything goes to fucking hell.

Also also.... random WMG... the Prion thingie, it's clear that will in some way be what leads to the creation of the three tribes but how do THAT many Alicorns all just, stop being alicorns? And we also have Chaos to deal with.. and there is only one thing that can actually deal with him..... two birds one stone.... The final major bit will be the Sisters raiding all of the other hives to gather the "Creation Stones", the originally, well, created Ponies. Using them to purge the Ponies of the Prion, to try and heal the damage it was doing... but the damage had already been so great they could only partially fix it, creating the separation.. and giving likely dealing with Chaos in a similar way.

If it's my fault that my favorite story exists, then I am not sorry! So there!

I was actually imagining that the next book would be on the involution of the current Class-1 dog based civilization into the future pony feudalism and dog barbarie.

Group... hmm. Not sure what the advantage would be.

Gloating rights, if nothing else. Furthermore, others could begin writing meta-fanfics of this story, and the various discussions could become much more orderly.

Well, you're older than me too, which I don't always manage to find in Brony circles.

I say you do a Douglas Adams trilogy and make it five books long.

That was the original plan, to write the whole sweep of Equestrian history right up to S1E1, but I'd be dead before I got a century in. I actually wrote the 'final chapter'; it will be turned into a short at some point.

Keep up the good work !

You are almost half-way there :scootangel:
