Here are the notable deaths for this past week from North America, Japan, and select parts of Europe. As usual, please see Wikipedia for a complete list of notable 2016 deaths.
Special mention this week, of course, goes to the horrible mass shooting in Orlando in which fifty people were killed and fifty-three others were wounded, as well as to the two-year-old who died tragically at a Disney resort after being dragged underwater by an alligator.
June 11:
- Christina Grimmie, 22, American singer-songwriter (Find Me) and talent show participant (The Voice), shot.
June 12:
- Janet Waldo, 96, American actress and voice artist (original voice of Judy Jetson).
June 14:
- Ronnie Claire Edwards, 83, American actress (The Waltons, The Dead Pool, Designing Women). (Star Trek: The Next Generations fans will remember her as Talur from the season 7 episode "Thine Own Self".)
- Ann Morgan Guilbert, 87, American actress (The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Nanny, Grumpier Old Men), cancer.
June 15:
- Lois Duncan, 82, American writer.
- Gypsy Joe, 82, Puerto Rican professional wrestler (WWF).
- Richard Selzer, 87, American surgeon and author.
June 17:
- Attrell Cordes, 46, American rhythm and blues singer (P.M. Dawn), renal disease.
Potentially On Death Watch:
- Meat Loaf, 68: collapsed on stage during a concert in Canada; has cancelled several shows recently due to illness. His staff say he's expected to make a full and speedy recovery, but when a man his age starts collapsing in the middle of a concert, it's time to get nervous.
Meat Loaf will be back like a bat out of hell.
This was a hellish week in a hell of a year.

4031095 It's awful. It's all they can talk about over here. Gun crime is fairly rare, and we haven't had a politician murdered for a long time.
