    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

Doctor Perseus Reviews: "Spice Up Your Life" *SPOILERS* · 8:29pm Jun 11th, 2016

In this week's episode of MLP, Rarity and Pinkie Pie are sent to Canterlot by the Cutie Map. There, they find a struggling father-daughter restaurant and decide to help the pair. But Rarity and Pinkie Pie soon find themselves disagreeing about how to go about improving the restaurant.

It's nice to see the return of the Cutie Map. It's about time since Season 6 is almost half-way done. Though we were given a fitting explanation for its absence due to Starlight's shenanigans with it in the Season 5 finale. But enough about the map, how did this episode fare? I liked it.

It's nice to see another episode with Rarity and Pinkie Pie. We've been getting quite a few Rarity/Pinkie Pie moments this season. I suppose Season 6 is making up for lost time given how little we saw of these two together throughout the past five seasons. They continue to bounce off each other wonderfully and the type of conflict presented in this episode was one that could only fit being for Rarity and Pinkie Pie.

Saffron Masala and Coriander Cumin were very enjoyable guest characters. Not the most memorable of guest characters but sympathized with their situation and liked seeing them succeed in the end. The most recent seasons have really put in an effort to show more diverse ponies. Saffron and Coriander are easily Indian-type ponies (and if I'm somehow wrong about that, forgive my white ignorance :twilightsheepish:). Zesty Gourmand was a fitting foil for this episode and it was satisfying to see Rarity and Pinkie Pie put her in her place at the end. Speaking of that, I really liked the moral of this episode. You can have your own opinions and tastes but don't force others to have the same. If only everyone on the internet followed this lesson. I felt that this episode was also a jab at some of the more snobby critics today. The critics can have their opinions but you have every right to agree or disagree with them as you please.

The opening scene with the Cutie Map was a lot of fun. I especially loved everypony's annoyed reactions to Rarity going on about Canterlot for the one thousandth time. I also really liked the song "It's Gonna Work". We're starting to see more songs crop up in the episodes. I do look forward to seeing what the rest of Season 6 has to offer.

Overall, Spice Up Your Life was another great episode for Rarity and Pinkie Pie. And I might as well share this video given the title of this episode:

From what I can see, it appears that Season 6 is going on a mid-season hiatus. Though the OCD part of me is annoyed since this is only Episode 12 and it would have been a perfect mid-season cut if the hiatus came after Episode 13.

But enough about my OCD.

What did the rest of you think of Spice Up Your Life?

Speaking of Starlight, have you noticed that this is the first episode of the season she's appeared in where she wasn't the focus? I mean, up until this point, her only appearances in Season 6 were episodes that put her in a central role (The Crystalling, No Second Prances, & A Hearth's Warming Tail) while being completely absent in the rest. It's like what SuperPinkBrony12 said in his review of The Saddle Row Review:
* "She doesn't need to be in every episode, but she can't just be in episodes where she's the focus of a lesson or the one who finds the solution to the problem. If the writers want to sell us on Starlight's redemption and her being the seventh ranger, we need to be able to see more of her outside of a leading role."

But anyway, now that the mid-season hiatus is upon us, we expect your usual season overview fairly soon.

I also enjoyed this episode as well. I go all out into why in my own review. I also couldn't help thinking of the Spice Girls song "Spice Up Your Life".

My OCD?! That's a Rhett and Link video. Do you watch Rhett and Link?

A bit here and there. I've definitely liked what I've seen of them so far. My videos of theirs are the Graduation Song, the OCD song, and the video they had with Daniel Radcliffe.

4027799 So, I take it you haven't watched a lot of Good Mythical Morning.:twilightsheepish:
