Howdy, y'all.
Man, is this seriously the first blog post I've made in 2016. That's kind of a depressing thought. This year has been pretty hectic for me, but I should certainly be more active than that. Sorry, folks.
At any rate, I'm not here to ponder my own shortcomings. I'm actually here to spread the word about a story by my buddy Razalon the Lizardman. He wrote up a pretty awesome tale about Mizuko and Lilligold, his OC and mine respectively, from the OC Slamjam way back when. We'd been in talks about doing a collaborative effort with out characters during the contest itself, but nothing much ever came from it on my end. Thankfully he's gone and picked up the slack and produced a fun, vivacious little story: Lilligold and Mizuko's Neighponese Tale! It's a very cute, very entertaining little adventure story that really ties nicely into MLP's central themes. I went and did some pre-reading at his request to make sure Lilligold was written well (bang-up job), and I had a grand time reading it.
So whether you were embroiled in the OC Slamjam or not, I'd definitely take some time to give this a look-see. If you don't have a particular intolerance for OC stories, it ain't a bad time investment. Here's the story's description, in case you absolutely can't be bothered to click on the story without first knowing its conceit:
Lilligold, the kindred shopkeeper from Elmshire, travels to Neighpon to collect some cherry blossoms for her magical botany experiments. With the help of a local pearl diver named Mizuko, it seems like her mission is a done deal.
If only it were that easy.

Well, may be happening soon. Someone's writing a story with my character. I probs should keep it under wraps for now though. :B
