    Rock Solid Frienship review

Hello there. Sorry I haven't uploaded a review of last week's episode but schoolwork has been pretty heavy for me this last week and I just couldn't justify writing it when I have lab reports, GIS projects, and an Econ exam to study for. I will re-watch the episode tomorrow and then write my review for it, so please come back tomorrow to read my thoughts on episode 3. For now, let's take a look

    All Bottled Up review

Hello there. Here is part two of my reviews of the new season. This time Twilight and the gang go on a "friendship retreat" to Manehatten and Starlight and Trixie stay behind to teach Trixie new magic. I enjoy the Trixie episodes mostly because she is such a complete foil to Twilight that I can't help but find her fun. My thoughts on the episode below.

    Celestial Advice review

Hello there. I've decided to continue my reviews of the episodes that I started doing last year and now we have brand new episodes! :pinkiehappy: This is an interesting review because, as you probably already know, there was no two-parter this season, but two standalone episodes.

Flutter Brutter review · 10:14pm Jun 4th, 2016

Another week another episode. This time we FINALLY meet family members of another mane six. Now all we need is to meet Scootaloo's family (I would like to think that she does have parents and isn't an orphan, even though these are some of my favorite stories on this site, especially when she gets adopted by RD) When I read the synopsis of this episode I was worried that it would tread the same ground as Putting Your Hoof Down. Thankfully we got something a lot better. In PYHD Flutter Shy had to learn to become more assertive and yet strike a balance between being mean and standing up for herself. This time around we got to see how she has taken that balance and applied it to her life. My thoughts on the episode below.

This episode really resonated with me. I can understand how Flutter Shy's (we learn that Shy is actually her family name) brother Zephyr feels about moving out on his own. It can be a very daunting prospect and if anyone tells you differently they're lying. The fact that he tries to rely on his parents again at the end of the episode shows just how afraid he is. He is mostly scared of failure which is a very natural and proper response. However, as Flutter Shy points out, just because you might fail doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try and that you should try with all your strength. As master Yoda said, "Do or Do Not. There is no try".

As I said, this episode really resonated with me. In particular Zephyr's willingness to give up when things start to get tough. When I was taking the first course of Calculus at my local community college I had to pass my final in order to pass the class and move onto the next class in the sequence. I didn't think I was capable of doing well enough and there was a time that I considered dropping out of school because of it. But I persevered through and am now at a four year university with a Transfer Degree working towards my dream of becoming a Volcanologist.

One final thing I want to touch on briefly with this episode is the comedy. I thought that it was all extremely funny. The whole thing with Zephyr believing that Rainbow has the hots for him makes me wonder if there is some history between the two. Maybe Rainbow did like him when she was younger and he thinks she still does (I smell a ship). Anyway that's it for Flutter Brutter, a much better episode than last weeks. Next time, we be putting a little spice into the show.
