So I wrote a little story in the aftermath of the new Captain America controversy. I personally don't like the concepts behind the new comic line but Free Speech is part of the values the character is supposed to represent so I suggested to people that if they did not like the idea of Captain America being a member of Hydra, that they just don't buy the blasted comic book!
The issue that caused all the controversy and Death Threats even? (!) Sold out and went into second printing.
*Facepalm*
So people are willing to THREATEN the LIVES of COMIC BOOK WRITERS over a FICTIONAL CHARACTER...
But they WON'T simply REFUSE to buy the freaking COMIC?
What the hell is wrong with this picture?
Welcome to fandom: we're entitled little shits, we'll shout death threats, but we'll buy the stuff anyway because we're too stupid to realize that the way we actually give voice to our opinion is to not do that.
Enjoy your stay.

I have a dream! That one day.... fans and geeks will live up to their potential! That we become conscientious Lions rather than rabid sheep. We must learn to shout with silence. Criticize without denigrating. Respect that which we would protect!
I may not see the promised land but I have faith we can achieve it!

Amen to that. Personally I find the concept interesting and will want to know how they fix everything once I actually get to it since the whole thing with what the writers said sounds like another of Red Skull's plans, like Cosmic Cube plan which can change reality.
