MLP CCG Variant for Young Players

So a I bought a bunch of My Little Pony Collectible Card Game® cards off eBay for a pittance some time ago. I had intended to post a review of the game here at some point, but I haven't actually played the real version of the game yet. I own a lot of board and card games, and so a lot of different things compete for table time when I have friends over.

My young nieces (4.5 and 6 years old, give or take), however, like ponies and I play it with them. I developed some variant rules to make the game match their skill level.
