And no, I'm not shitting you with that. To be honest, I wish I was. This is actually a thing that's going on right now in the comics, specifically Captain America: Steve Rogers #1. And boy are people beyond pissed off. And ya know what? So am I.
I could go into every detail how this makes absolutely no sense, but I think this speaks for itself. They've made it VERY clear right now that this is not any alternate version of Captain America, or a clone or an impostor or anything. They're pretty much going out of their way to say this is actually the canon Steve Rogers. The writers are saying that there's going to be flashbacks of Steve's childhood to explain why his beliefs are suddenly like this, but it seriously does not matter at all what they do because it's not going to make it any more believable give everything else that's been shown over Captain America's entire run time. It's like saying that Yoda was actually a Sith, or that the Joker was actually working for the Justice League. See, this is pretty much just flushing over 75 years of character development down the shitter for shock value. Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong all you feel like, but that's exactly what's happening no matter what anyone at Marvel tells the press.
And you know what the worst part is?
Later on, this is going to just be pulled back by Marvel because it's getting so many people understandably pissed off. And this isn't like a TV show or movie where they go through with stupid shit even though it's obvious the reception is going to be bad. This is a comic book, they're allowed to do ass-pulls like that. (I'm looking at you, "every single death of a superhero that has ever been written") So by saying that they're really going through with all of this and that it's the actual Captain America right now is just making themselves look stupid. I can guarantee that in the span of a few months this won't mean jack shit.
I already said the worst thing about this, but you want to know what the STUPIDEST thing about this is?
This happened THE DAY after they stated Cap could not be bisexual because they said THAT wouldn't make sense. (It really wouldn't by the way) And yet THIS somehow made the cut. Also need I remind you Captain America was made by actual Jewish people in response to Hitler and WW2 and whatnot. Making it out that he was a neo-nazi all along not only destroys everything about an american icon, but REALLY disrespects the original creators.

I could only think of a couple of options
-Captain America was a sleeping agent, without knowing as they changed his memories or make him forgot
-Captain America was brainwashed
-Captain America is acting, he is doing that to infiltrate Hydra
-Captain America is being Blackmailed so that he works for Hydra
Not sure what option could be, or if it's any of those options.
3972058 Like I've said. Marvel is going out of their way to make it so this is not brainwashing or anything of that nature. Also this panel right here happened directly after he threw a fellow hero to his death. And they're making it out that he was ALWAYS like this throughout his entire creation as a comic book character.

I don't know too much about what Marvel say but... did they say "Captain America was a agent of Hydra and it was from the begining and is not a trick" or they only show him throwing the hero and doing the hail HYDRA? Because it could be very well, something to make HYDRA fall in a trap. But if it's not that, and Captain was in Hydra from the begining, well, that is a twist, but I don't really see the problem if they put it good to show that the Captain was acting doing the "Good Boy" act so that everyone could believe it.

Essentially what's being done right now is the writer making a shitty twist that craps on over 75 years of character development for the sake of shock, and is also shitting on the original creator's graves because Cap was made as anti-Nazi propaganda by Jewish people. Making him a Nazi the entire time is basically saying "Yeah fuck anyone who grew up with this character and was inspired by his ideologies and acts of bravery. Nevermind the fact that he's risked his life several times to destroy Hydra and they're the very organization that brainwashed his best friend."

3972095 Well, THAT, I can understand, I mean, they are not even the original authors and they changed in 180ยบ the Captain just for a shock... Is like using the flag as a handkerchief and after that clean the ass. Captain America is a symbol that is not even from them. If it was the original author, maybe I could understand but after many years. Really is like turning Kakaroto from Dragon Ball in a paedophile or Popeye in a gay astronaut.
Even if they are not signs like the Captain, they are old. I could even put another example with "El quijote" or other things but I'm not sure of other symbols that are like the Captain America except maybe the Holy Bible changing and put Jesus as a serial killer that liked Romans. But that could be extreme so, too low or too much.

Normally I like playing devil's advocate and saying that this isn't actually that bad, but honestly, this was a pretty stupid move on Marvel's part.
Anyone read the free comic boy day issue by chance? Now that I looked it over again I think this right here is whatever the Red Skull's planning with his winning the moment he and Captain America meets on the battlefield. I'm thinking it's Cosmic Cube related somehow. I think that's the best way to turn Cap evil and make him that way all along, rewrite his entire history so he's an ally of the nazis like they did to Bucky before he was freed of the brainwashing when those guys retrieved his revived body after Cap used it to save Bucky. Seems like something Red Skull would pull.

Btw anyone see the new Spiderman arc yet? Gwen Stacy appears to be alive again next to what may be Anubis himself. The Rhino and his wife are alive again when apparently they died and Vanessa Fisk died recently through a hit and run when according to Spidy she's been dead for years rotting in a crypt. and this was in the same FCBD issue.
You know what the real kicker of all this is? That he has lost the moral high ground to the JOKER. THE JOKER everyone, the same mass murdering criminal lunatic who mind raped Comissioner Gordon and shot Barbara, paralyzing her, for the sole sake of making a point said and I QUOTE!
