ok so
there's one thing i've noticed with the human tag, it's this.
people give a dislike to Hie out of the principle that it is a HiE story. i've noticed this specifically with CtS.
i updated with chapter four, and immediately the dislike counter rose by one.
i don't get it, are people obliged to dislike it just because of the human tag? or is it that anarchy complex were people dislike something just because a lot of people like it.
i mean, i know my writing and storytelling skills aren't perfect, but surely they're not bad enough to warrant an instant dislike, right?

But to give you the answer, it's hard to say what people think. Some say it's been over use or that a lot of them aren't really great, like most of them are... Odd for the series?
But there are some amazing stories like Arrow 18, Last Pony on Earth, Protocol D, Project Sunflower & etc.
People just need to read them first before judging a book from its cover. It's seems to happen always on here....
I think it's something like a bandwagon effect?
Hate because everyone hate it.
I, for one, like HiE, so don't expect a dislike from me anytime soon)
Anyway, if someone presses dislike and does not give a reason or constructive criticism why he or she dislikes your work, I would say ignore them.
And if someone dislikes HiE but continues to read it and dislike it, it's just called masochism.

1. the bandwagon affect of gang whatever the fuck you call it,
2. the number of shit and bad HIE fics out there out weight the number of actual readable and good ones, plus its become a very generic thing to do and a lot of the time people are simply scraping the bottom of the barrel, you have to make something really unique to make a golden egg, that or going into the porn route, but even the clop has taken its own hits, the worst being ANON in equestria storys.

3965965 Yeah I can admit I've seen my fair share of inhumane shite, I can't escape it either as my first two stories weren't exactly great, but my third one has done surprisingly better, but I've stopped with ponies for now, I've got other websites im writing stuff on.

I think the story's description is the cause of the dislikes, because I had a negative expectation before I read it and saw it was fairly decent.
Part of it could be the HiE factor. Part of it could be that you claim this kid's life needs a restart when he's only seventeen. It could be for a human becoming a pony. It could be for translating all of his family over to Equestria. It could simply be because your story was on the front page when they were looking.

Haven't actually formed an opinion on your story yet myself, cautiously optimistic it is something that will be worth reading though.
You may have lucked into people who enjoy the sort of stories like yours. Attracting the bigger HiE crowd brought readers less tolerant to its drawbacks.

true that. can be difficult to write a description for this genre that doesn't seem done to death; after all eventually you're going to have to mention "human" and "appears in equestria" or something to that effect.

Not really. Some of the more interesting stories don't mention it at all. Check out the descriptions (both long and short) for very different stories that involve people transforming into ponies:
The Magic World
The Chaotic Touch of Harmony
The Substitute Demon
Meanwhile, the current long description is a bit similar to another story,
My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: Off The Record, and despite it being a good story it has a very, very clichéd start (that it subverts it later is what makes it rather memorable). As you can see, it also has a poor voting record from people judging the story before reading it (as you can tell from all the side-stories the author has written in the same universe with much better voting records, thus being read by people who read the original).
