I'm sure it's just a coincidence, nothing more.
I wouldn't worry, I don't think the MLP Staff are allowed to read fanfics anyway. Then again, there probably is fanart of the story so...
Wasn't just me then...
My jaw dropped the instant that fuzzy-brow annoying little cutie uttered those most brilliant words out of her cartoon pony mouth. I can only hope one day we get some sort of Spooner-like episode this season in some fashion.

Also, as FOX has proven most recently about writers not allowed to steal other people's intellectual properties and then claim them as their own with the latest Family Guy and a certain YOUTUBE NES video, you can take ideas from anywhere so long as no one knows you did. Long time ago already the staff has admitted to reading story descriptions, they ARE aware of the fanfics we write. Something also most evident in episodes that tackled near all fanfic troups about the CMC and what would happen if they got their cutie marks. Not the best example but the show has a lot of too close to be mere coincidences in the last couple seasons and this latest one especially.
Not saying they read the story, or that the picture influenced a line in the story much like some imply a two year old comic inspired that Pinkie Pie scene, that scene was just a smart callback after all. Boots knows this well, he merely made this post in jest. However, they are told they can't read stories yet they are aware of the stories people write? Hmm. I can't prove these anymore due to too many dead links, but never trust capany at face value.
3962705 Well, to be fair quite a bit of some of the fan headcanons and stuff like that could be found on fanart sites or just overheard at conventions. And I figured out the post was made in jest soon after I posted my comment.
