The Game of Feels (Undertale + Spoilers) · 9:03pm May 21st, 2016
Again it has been a while since I have done a blog post, but I'll start doing more sooner or later. But what better way then to let you know that I finally played Undertale. And you know what? I loved it!
This game I felt was pretty good all around. The comedy was well done. The characters were all pretty interesting (in one way or another). The gameplay, although being pretty simple, was a little more complex than I thought at first. I'll also admit that I died more than three times. (Cause honestly this game can be a bit difficult). It's also sometimes hard to catch on to it). Especially for one boss fight I think I died to the most. Looking at you Undyne! (One who believes Anime is real. I almost wanted to crush her dreams... almost).
But honestly I enjoyed all the boss fights. The finale for my pacifist run was amazing! (It has almost been a year since this game came out so I will make sure that the Spoiler Warning is in the title). I was blown away by the ending. Asriel Dreemur was a very interesting final boss. Not to mention the fact that this game loved to mess with you time and again. I didn't realize that the main character already had a name, so that was interesting. It hit me right in the feels too when Asriel had to go away again. (Mostly cried on the inside). I still don't think I could go through the genocide route. That'd be too sad of a trial.
I will say this though. The plot was... weak? Honestly I thought that it didn't really hold up well when it came to the main antagonist and Frisk. I mean if there was more dialogue between Flowey and Frisk, I think it'd definitely be a lot better. You know, him being a jerk and even giving you advice as well and throwing you off. It'd definitely make the game a lot more interesting. But really that's my only nitpick. It's a good game all-around and I enjoyed it. I think my favorite boss will always be the lovable killing machine, Mettaton. God I loved that robot. I mean he wasn't all that interesting as a villain, more like an anti-hero or anti-villain to me. But man his little moments of trying to murder me with a chainsaw was fun. Ahhh... good times.
Again it was a fun game. I think I had a lot of fun with it. Now if you'll excuse me. I need to go trim a few roots here. (More like a few petals. I'm talking about you... Flowey)!
