[Pokemon OC] Gym Leader Kamek · 5:15pm May 20th, 2016

Yes, you heard right! Me.

As I'm sure everyone by this point knows, I'm a huge Pokemon nerd. Like, big enough to reach Mars and beyond. Yeah; that big. So what better way to stroke my ego than to make a Gym Leader OC sheet about myself? Please, please; contain your enthusiasm. But in all seriousness, don't feel left out of this one. At the end of this, you too can make your own Gym Leader OC in the comments below!

Seriously, I'd love to see your own Gym Leaders and their personalities! And if it's too big for a comment, link me to your blog and I'll read it there instead. We cool? Awesome!

Please enjoy!

Description:

Kamek is a younger Gym Leader who always wears his signature black zipper hoodie (hood down) wherever he goes. He also wears a purple shirt, tan pants and a small black and blue satchel strapped around his left shoulder. He has long brown hair that goes down to his neck, and fair skin. Finally, he never goes anywhere without a black baseball cap with a few purple highlights here and there.

Kamek, as mentioned before, is a younger Gym Leader in the league, if not the youngest. He's new to being a Gym Leader, more specifically the fifth in Azalea City, but unlike Flannery, he couldn't be more excited to finally have some role in helping trainers try to reach the Pokemon League. He absolutely loves video games, as evidenced by his gym and the fact he's distracted by one before you try talking with him. He can be a little bit of a sore loser if he loses to you, but is quick to cheer back up again and apologize.

He's also a bit lazy, but knowing me, I think we already knew that.

Gym:

The gym is like a huge arcade; game machines everywhere you look, and most of them connected to the puzzle of the gym. The room is semi-dark, with enough shadows for people to see the games they're playing, and enough light for them to see where they're walking. A few party lights also flicker around the gym in an attempt to get people more excited.

The puzzle is simple to understand, but fairly challenging. In order to unlock the back room door where Kamek is off playing his games alone, you have to make sure every arcade machine in the room is lit up. The room is split up into four quadrants, each for the four corners of the room. All are accessible right off the bat and can be completed in any order. In order to light the arcade machines up, you must interact with four of the twenty in each quadrant in a certain order. The order is random for every game, so it's advised to ask the quadrant supervisor if they know a hint, resulting in a battle.

After the battle, the quadrant supervisors will tell you the order of how to light up the arcade machines. Pay close attention to the names they say and search them out. The games include Supah Roller, Hot Head, Bouncer, Bamboo Slice, Hydro Warriors, Stick, Poison Power, etc, and can be said in any order. There are six trainers in the gym, all of which are technically optional since it is possible to solve the puzzle without the supervisors' help.

Once all games have been lit up, the back door unlocks and leads you to your challenge.

Quotes:

Before Battle:

*Kamek is playing on his 3DS while he waits for challengers to come before you try talking with him*

Kamek: ...Huh? Uh?! A challenger?! Oh, uh... sorry about this...

*sheepish smile*
*puts 3DS away*

Kamek: So, uh... hey! My name's Kamek, and I'm the new Gym Leader here. Though I'm new, honestly I couldn't be more pumped to finally get to fight someone! Though really... I just wasn't expecting anyone here on the day I got this job... I guess arcades weren't the best puzzle?

Kamek: But in any case...

*closes eyes*
*deep breath in*
*deep breath out*
*opens eyes*

Kamek: As the new gym leader of Azalea City, me and my poison type Pokemon will strike you down!

Last Pokemon:

Kamek: Backed into a corner?! On my first day?!

Defeated:

Kamek: ............oh.

After Battle:

Kamek: ............uh, wow. You really got me there, that's for sure...

*disappointed sigh*

Kamek: Hmm? Nah, it's nothing; just a little sad I lost my first battle as a gym leader. But hey; what are gym leaders really for, am I right? Anyway, if anything, that battle taught me something important: I need to train harder if I'm ever going to keep this new job! Thanks for showing me that.

Kamek: ...Badge? Oh, right, sorry! Still new at this... uh, here you go!

*you got the Virus Badge*

Kamek: If I recall, that badge lets you use Pokemon level 60 or under, traded or not. Oh, and have an extra little thing from me!

*you got TM84 Poison Jab*

Kamek: Poison Jab is a powerful move that has a small chance of poisoning your opponent. And hey: any chance is a good chance, right? Anyway, thanks for fighting me, uh... sorry, never caught your name.

Kamek: ...

Kamek: ...<player>, huh? Well, nice to meet you, <player>! I hope to get a chance to battle you again.

Talk Again:

Kamek: Hey there, <player>! I'm a bit busy right now, but I hope to get a chance to battle you again!

Be sure to post down in the comments below on what YOUR Gym Leader OC is! Make your team, your personality and your gym puzzle and tell me all about them. Or if you think the OC's description is too big for the comment section, you can always make a blog about your OC and link it to me so I can read it.

Thank you all and have a great weekend!

I definitely won't be as in depth but I'll give it a shot.
Gym leader: Nicholas Miracle.
Theme: Darkness and shadows
Pokemon:
Lv. 47 Houndoom
Lv. 42 Weavile
Lv. 43 Umbreon
Lv. 44 Zwelious
And that's all I got so far.

Gym: Pretty odd that the gym puzzle doesn't fit to the type
And why Azalea Town? Because of the Slowpokes?
Personality: You sure you don't describe me?:trixieshiftright:
Pokemon: *flat tone* What a surprise... A Crobat.

3959143
- Well answering questions didn't go along with the Ghost-type, but we still got Fantina anyway.
- Azalea is a type of poisonous flower. I would assume this region's cities are named after flowers.
- This is literally me in a nutshell though. XD
- This.

Pokemon: *flat tone* What a surprise... A Crobat.

3958897
I like it! So you're going to be the final Gym Leader then?

3959371 Either the last or second to last gym leader. My Houndoom would probably also mega-evolve.

3959373
Well, um... probably not. That would be OP. :twilightsheepish:

3959376 Probably, but I imagine the trainer using his best Pokemon when I summon Houndoom and they both mega-evolve in an ultimate showdown.

3959370
Bot you got that this was only a joke, right?:twilightsheepish:
Anyways give me a bit time and maybe I come up with something. Shouldn't be too hard considering a few weeks ago I made a line of MLP gym leaders just for fun. Only problem is that I don't know my favourite type:applejackconfused:

3959402
I know it was a joke. :derpytongue2:
Anyway, I look forward to what you have in store.
Well, what type do you like using the most?

3959410
Alright, I decided for Electric, fourth gym, puzzle probably related to Video games too
Pokemon:
Rotom Lv. 32
Lanturn Lv. 32
Ampharos Lv. 34
Man, that was nearly as hard as making a fairy team for Cadence

3959545
Sounds like a nice lineup! :rainbowkiss:

Pokemon gym leader maker 2: Electric boogaloo. Lets go.

Description:
Navieka is a scrawny, fair skinned man around the age of 18, with short brown hair who wears a plain green tee, khaki pants, sunglasses meant for construction on the top of his head, and is constantly tinkering with a small machine that he carries in a computer bag. He has recently become the Owner of the factory where the gym is in, because his father went into retirement and gave the position to Navieka. Navieka is also an avid fencer and is sometimes seen outside the gym at Hon-your-edge sparing club fighting with the other patrons.
Because Navieka has to act as the Gym Leader and the manager of the factory, he is constantly seems under stress to the other trainers that work with him, when he just has other things on his mind. Despite running both the gym and factory, he likes to tinker, and has been trying to make something unique for anyone who beats him in an official gym battle.
He is constantly followed around by his Aegislash, originally a Honedge he befriended as a child while on a safari trip, and the reason why he is so scrawny due to losing some of his life force when it was a Honedge. Despite this, Aegislash makes sure Navieka doesn't overexert himself and keeps him in shape.

Gym:
The gym is located inside his father's factory, making use of conveyor belts, electricity, levers, elevators and a few locked doors. While you are walking around, you can see people and pokemon working around the factory, although you cannot interact with them. Think of a safer version of the Star Wars II droid factory. There are two floors, with two main elevators to bring you back and forth.
In order to get to the office where Navieka is, you have to open a red and gold steel door that can only be opened by 4 red levers total around the factory, two in the top floor and two on the lower. To get to each of them, you need to use the conveyor belts and elevators. the conveyor belts are all switched back and forth by buttons scattered throughout the area, and the elevators are activated by green levers that are right by them on the lower level so you can move on the upper level. Note: the main elevators have no switch, you walk in and you move up/down. When you go through the steel door, you enter a large elevator that takes you under the factory.
There are 6 trainers, and they will all use steel Pokemon, but one will have an electric type in addition that is not steel. He's hiding on a secret path on the lower level and you get a revive when you beat him. When the player gets to the Gym leader, Aegislash stands to the left of Navieka (Your left) facing you, while Navieka himself is facing away from you working on his little gadget. The room has two boilers on the left and right of the rooms, and everything in the room is made of precious metals.

Navieka's team of Pokemon:
1) Magnemite, Lv. 27 (Sturdy ability)

After Battle:
Navieka: Good Job, you successfully beat me! I'll admit, you defiantly caught me off guard. Most people cannot beat me due to the heat, but you kept your cool and held strong. Here's the badge for ya!
*obtain Ironworks Badge*
Navieka: This should let you Fight the next Gym leader, and boy is he fun! Oh! your gonna need this as well to get to Azalea City.

Late reply is late!

I absolutely love him! Er... you. :twilightsheepish: Though, seeing how it would only be the fourth gym, Aegislash is a little OP, wouldn't you agree? Would you suffice for a Doublade? I mean, these are some pretty powerful Pokemon for half-way through the game. And yes, I do remember Burgh using Leavanny in the third gym battle, but being quad weak to Fire meant it went down very easily. And yes, I do have a Crobat on my team, but I would assume before Azalea City you would find an Ice type or five.

Also... you're 30? :pinkiegasp:

3960389
1: Your note makes sense. Looking at the leaders, I actually am removing him, but will use Aegislash for the rematch battle.
2: I just chose you cuz your awesome.
4:I am not actually 30, but I originally didn't go to in depth looking at the Gym Leader list. I forgot about Jamine, Tate and Liza. That will get switched to a different age.

Just that I'm impressed on how much detail you go into when you make blogs like this. I rarely ever blog and when I do it's short.

Hey! If anyone's interested, I have a new blog up that's basically preparing for a huge blog dump in the future. Basically, it's about gym leaders. Look, I'm terrible at explaining things, so the blog should tell you everything you need to know. See you there!

https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/634399/what-pokemon-type-would-you-have-as-a-gym-leader

Might as well make the one that I had sent.

Name: Urther.

Description&Personality Urther is in his early twenties, but he appears younger closely resembling a 16 year old. He stands at 5'7 and he has an average build. He has short windswept brown hair and blue eyes with slightly pale skin. His casual wear is lime green t shirt and a blue zip up jacket layered over it and black jean pants with matching sneakers and a belt with his pokeballs on them. He wears a silver colored Mega Bracelet on his left wrist. He is known to be rather calm and collected person, but he can also be a rather excitable person who has a love for his family and pokemon. Yet he is a bit scatterbrain and has been known to often forget things or will have something on him and will forget that he has it on him. He is often seen helping outs out in the city and volunteers to assist and do various things for the better of the city.

Gym: In order to get through to Urther who is in the far back making plans for a town event the player must battle through 4 rooms each having a team of 2-3 pokemon, but if want to skip past the battle you can pay/bribe the trainer by giving them a certain amount of money and they will allow you to pass. Even before that you will reach a door that will only open if you answer three questions about Fairy-Type Pokemon and get them all right. If any are answered wrong you will be sent back to the start of the gym and will have to fight any of the trainers you have payed/bribed. If you win against them in addition to the prize money they will return the money you payed/bribed them with. Each room looks like an office each with there own touches, and the back room where Urther is is a cluttered mess of an office.

Pokemon:
1: Slurpuff (LV: 41) (Ability: Unburden) (Hold Item: Sitrius Berry) (Moves: Draining Kiss, Toxic, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic).
2: Florges (LV: 41) (Ability: Flower Veil) (Hold Item: None) (Moves: Light Screen, Moonblast, Toxic, Dazzling Gleam).
3: Togekiss (LV: 43) (Ability: Serene Grace) (Hold Item: None) (Moves: Air Slash, Toxic, Signal Beam, Dazzling Gleam).

5: Gardevoir (LV: 45) (Ability: Synchronize) (Hold Item: Gardevoireite) (Moves: Moonblast, Toxic, Draining Kiss, Protect).

Quotes

Before Battle When You Enter The Room
Urther: *Looking at a clipboard from behind the desk* Okay that should just about finish the preparations...Hmm? *Notices player and gets out from behind desk.*

Before Battle
Urther: So you must be the trainer that my friends Kamek and Navieka mentioned. I was wondering when I would finally get the chance to battle someone who wasn't a waste of my time.
*Closes eyes and takes a deep breath and breaths out grinning*
Urther: Now allow me to introduce myself. I am the Frontier City gym leader, and my name is Urther. Now...
*Pulls out a pokeball from his belt and holds it out glaring at the player*
Urther: Let's see if your worth the praise my friends gave you! Hade Ni Ikuze!

Last Pokemon
Urther: Hahaha! Well now this sure isn't something you see everyday! Bring it on!

Defeat
Urther: You are all that they said and much more. An impressive trainer indeed.

After Battle
Urther: Nothing I can say can really describe the battle I just experienced with you. Congratulations <Player> you have defeated me and proved you were worth my friends praise. You have rightfully earned this.
*<Player> Obtains Gateway Badge*
Urther: With this any Pokemon no matter what level they are will listen to you. Even ones that you obtain through trade. You can also now use the HM Waterfall outside of battle.
*Lets out a frustrated sigh*
Urther: But now I have to get back to organizing the Gateway Festival. So see you later <Player>.
*<Player> goes to leave the gym*
Urther: WAIT!
*Urther comes running to <Player>*
Urther: I completely forgot to give you this. Besides the badge you have also earned this. I trust you to use it well.
*<Player> Obtains Dazzling Gleam TM*
Urther: Now you may go. Good luck at the Pokemon League <Player>!

It is actually possibly a Gym Leader can have more than three. The max I've seen was Giovanni which was five.
