This is the same as the 'Open to Ideas' blog...but I'm going to be more specific about what I'm asking for.
The setting is Uncle (and possibly Jackie) handling the CMC as they've just reached talking age.
What I'm asking for is the equivalent of a 'Thirty Minute Prompt' for that setting. These will give me what I can work for towards filling the time until the start of the series.
Ideas please. I'll be writing a chapter today after errands, and I'd like one that I can work with by then.
Uncle makes Jackie take the ponies to a farm since he really needs a break. The fillies mess up in the farm.
Uncle de decides to teach the fillies how to read and write, and how to count.
Uncle and Jackie have to hide the ponies from certain relatives visiting, including a baby Jade Chan.
The CMC discover video games, and get addicted to them, and either Jackie or Uncle has to tear them away from them.
The CMC discover the magic of shouting a certain word out constantly that they shouldn't. Considering the rating them shouting 'butts' at innapropriate times would work.
3949008 I doubt they'd really discover Video Games until Jade stays with Jackie and Uncle permanently, several years down the road. Jackie and Uncle wouldn't have any, and they don't exactly have any friends. Not only that, but the only one who could really manipulate the controller is Sweetie Belle, and her magic isn't quite good enough yet.
I'd say they should go to a park again, and end up playing around with the children and pets there.
CMC don't wanna play with their toys so Sweetie Bell makes books, toys and etc talk/semi alive like with the rat talisman.
Well sense their in a New World, there is a lot they can discover
3949021 What, you never heard of advertisements? As for the control issue? Yeah, you got me there for most games, but I mean simple ones like the original Mario games and such. Child friendly, but addictive.
Uncle sits the CMC down for a talk on magic ethics. That is to say, he teaches them about what is and is not right to do with magic.
Also, whatever incident prompted the talk would be good to see.

Jackie Chan Adventures takes place during the '00s, so 'Three More Things' takes place during the 90s. The only popular gaming systems at the time were the SNES (released 1990), Nintendo 64 (1996), Sega Genesis (1988), Sega Saturn (1994), and Playstation (1994), depending on what year it is. Gaming was not nearly as popular at this time, and, while there were commercials, most of them were rather bizarre, or wouldn't appeal to them (Sonic the Hedgehog was all about being cooler and faster than Mario, for example. Scootaloo might like it, but not the others).
Not only that, but even simple games often required you to press multiple buttons with one hand; Super Mario Bros. needed you to press one button to jump, and another to run and shoot fireballs, and many levels required you to do both at once. Not only that, but the buttons were in close proximity, designed to be pressed either together or on their own with one finger, and hooves are simply too big for that.
They goto a museum of natural history. Jackie being the archeologist would fit right in there.

So if an instrument as complex as the cello is playable by pony hooves, who says video games aren't?
As for a prompt idea... I like the idea of Uncle teaching them how to read and write. Or perhaps, maybe just reading them a bedtime story, like 'Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie'.
Ideas. Okay, let's see what I can do.
1) An outing somewhere (to be determined) they pass a movie theater, flower shop, toy store, scooter store, pet store, and/or music store. Shenanigans ensue.
2) A customer shows up at the Uncles shop. Hears the ponies. Shenanigans ensue.
3) The circus comes to town, or something. Shenanigans ensue.
Or maybe just... Shenanigans ensue.
Scootaloo becomes obsessed with comic book superheroes. Hijinks ensue!
Apple Bloom accidentally creates an Audrey II plant via her innate magic and a few misplaced chemicals and magical ingredients. Hijinks ensue!
Sweetie Belle gets snatched out of the park by a wannabe dark chi wizard, who thinks he can siphon magic from her. He is an idiot, and Sweetie is an adorably innocent troll. Hijinks ensue!
Like I said before:
Uncle takes the CMC fishing.
Jackie takes CMC to an arcade.
The whole family goes to a carnival.
Dentist appointment.
3949248 Octavia is clearly using the tip of her hoof for one string, and adjusting the angle to catch more. She also has a very large amount of practice, and her internal magic is stabilized enough for her to have greater manual dexterity. The CMC would be foals barely old enough to speak trying to do something that requires similar precision as the example you used. The only case where they wouldn't need such finesse would be for RPGs and such. Pokemon would be a good idea, but they would need three systems and copies each, and I doubt Uncle would agree to pay that much.
While Uncle takes the girls on an educational trip to a local aquarium so they could learn more about the world, the girls find a way to sneak into the tanks and they end up getting the fish to play with them.
Uncle takes the girls to San Francisco's own version of Chinatown to learn about Chinese culture and to meet with old friends. While there Sweetie Belle is recognized by some of the female members of the community and gets a royal treatment for her "sacred creature" status.
Uncle decides they need variety in what they eat, so he allows Jackie to take them to a local pizzeria where the girls end up infiltrating the kitchen when Jackie isn't looking and end up attempting to make various Italian dishes and fail royally.
Jackie takes the girls to an arcade for a few hours where the girls get an obscure inter-dimensional connection by spotting a familiar white unicorn with a blue mane riding with an equally familiar bald bad guy character in one of the arcade games

Or better yet, try to fit the girls and Jackie into scenarios that parallel with many great scenes from some of Jackie Chan's movies
Sweetie Belle gets an over-inflated ego because of Uncle's reverence for her species and then learns humility. AB and Scoots feel neglected because they feel Sweetie is the favorite.

A storm of ill omen overtakes the city suddenly and gives Uncle the willys. To calm himself and the kids he tells a story of the storm giants. Scootaloo wants to go see them herself and sneaks out to go meet them but instead finds a storm child that was just acting up because it was lonely. They become friends, the storm calms, they make shadow puppets for the whole city to see.
The CMC finds Uncle's 8 track tapes from his old store before he started selling antiques. Source: the time traveling episode, the first one (I think) Sweety Belle copys some of the singers.
A thief trys to steal from the store but is convinced by the CMC that the store is huanted through the use of thier amulets and magic. (Example: makeing the thief's hair stand on end by having Scootaloo charge the room with static electricity)
Applebloom starts a garden.
Also you could always just add in storys like this mid "main" story timelines. TV shows did it all the time and you doing it might make it feel more like we were watching the show. Wasn't there at least 1 episode long flash back?
Because no ones said it yet, three words: sweetie belle cooking.
