Following me? You must have no life! Give this pony game a look. · 6:32am May 2nd, 2016

The name of the game is >CLOP. The website is clop dot us. The gameplay is building nations, trading resources with other players, and occasionally waging war to take over other nations.

There aren't any pretty pictures, but there are ticks every two hours (that means the numbers change). You can watch these numbers go up, up, and even further up over months of real time. Get emotionally invested in your nation's wellbeing! Scheme in backrooms (on skype) with other players, betray your alliance, drive up market prices. It's an autist's wet dream.

Stock 14400 oil so that you can ship 7200 oil each to the Solar Empire and the New Lunar Republic, putting your relationship with each of them at 900. This relationship has a per-tick decrease that is higher when the relationship is higher, so you'll want to wait to do this until you also have 200 million bits stocked, as well as 5000 copper, 1000 machine parts, and 1000 composites, as well as (it goes without saying) +50 energy per tick. You have to have 900 relationship with the sisters to build their environmental facilities, which, if you have all ten of them up and running, will cut the environmental damage component of your satisfaction loss to approximately 34.868% of what it would otherwise be. Without these enviros it is hard to get past 50 mines per type, but with them you can build up much farther.

How should you build your nation? Simple. Determine the number of mines at which the cost (in bits) of replacing the sat loss of building one more mine is equal to or greater than the profit derived from the products given by the mine. This maximizes your per-tick profit. There are other philosophies of how to build, but this is the most basic one.

What the hell? Everything looked fine when you went to bed drunk last night, but when you checked your nation this morning, you were completely out of sugar! Even worse, the market price seems to have soared to outrageous levels! Have you reached out and made friends with anyone who could possibly send you a nation-saving deal before the next tick?

And now the copper price has jumped, too. Looks like someone's stockpiling some weapons. Could it be that there's a war you didn't know about?

The reason I post this is because >CLOP, after a couple of years in which it had a very good run with much drama and backstabbing, seems to be dying for lack of new players, as well as for lack of retaining what few new players it gets.

When it has a lot of players actively involved, the game is very much fun. The math is really an execution tax on the real game, which is the politics. If you weren't cynical about human motives before, give this game six months.

I don't play it anymore, though. Too much of a timesink. I was having goddamn dreams about this game.

But if you can handle it: >CLOP

And if you're not interested in playing it yourself, please help spread the word about the game. Though I don't know why I care so much about it, to be honest. Still, it'd be a shame if it just up and died for lack of players.

As for the... redecoration, I won't be logging in to this fimfiction account any more. I have changed my password to twenty-five random alphanumeric characters which I do not have memorized. Last step is to change the account email to prevent password recovery.

Peace.
