Audio reading: The Dragon's Riddle · 5:57am Apr 26th, 2016
While I was off partying at Babscon and pulling a frantic all-nighter to enter the Writeoff, fanfic reader Midnight29 was assembling a lovely little audiobook:
It's not the first reading of this story (that would be the one done by Illya Leonov et.al.), but it brings some impressive production values to the table. There are art-bedecked intro and outro segments, tastefully subtle video animation and background music during the reading, and even help from another reader to liven up the story's variety of voices. I did have occasional trouble with the accent, but this sort of effort suggests Midnight is a fanfic reader worth following, and her work has surprisingly low view counts.
If you haven't had a chance to read The Dragon's Riddle yet, this is time extra-well spent, because you can spend the video's 10-minute running time trying to puzzle out how to answer the titular riddle while you're entertained by a mythic Equestrian origin story and enriched by heartwarming Equestrian values. (Riddle seems to have become something of a sleeper hit of mine, which is pretty impressive considering its 1000-word pedigree.)

Pffft, I'm not even sure you count. You're, like, basically a hivebro, what with buying my merchandise and all.
You know, there's something I've always wondered about this story since the first time I read it. As I read it, I guessed the answer was "wisdom." Would that have sufficed?

Yes
but
Would It Matter if he was?

nope!
can't tell!

Probably so! The possibility of other "correct" answers was discussed a bit in story comments.

I still haven't figured out where to put the "horizon's hivebro" on my user page… but the time will come!
