It just occurred to me. Princess Bride (the book) is the original fake doc fanfic/fixfic, isn't it?
If you haven't ever seen the Princess Bride as a movie, you should; it's available digital everywhere, and you've probably read a reference to it without knowing.
If you've never read the BOOK, which predates the movie, I _highly_ recommend it. It is even more hilarious, and it's written as the actual author claiming to edit, cut down, and "fix" issues with the fictive original document
I know, right? Goldman wrote one of the most brilliant deconstructions of adventure stories I've ever seen.

You know, given what Princesses are in this fandom, and my own tendency to get distracted by waaaay too much worldbuilding, I should (a) take a lesson from that and (b) look and see if I couldn't parody it some day. Like, Shiny/Cady would be the obvious ones except... except damn. Shiny to Wesley, Buttercup to Cady (who's an ascended, after all), and Chrysalis to Humperdink (defeated by the power of love...)

Pfff, of course not. You don't wanna do a parody fic. That would be ridiculous. Nah, what you want to do is a sprawling metafictional satire of MLP fanfiction as a whole.

I have sufficient muses chewing on sensitive bits of my brain! *hides* ^_^ But seriously, I suspect I'd wait on a project of that size until I get Hunting Season to the wedding. ... Which given that even on my buffer chapters I'm still on Courtship 1/9 and haven't even STARTED with Fluttershy (#2) may make this a bit.
*rolls eyes* Oh, okay, so you're one of those people. All insisting that eating and sleeping and keeping your S.O. from stabbing you to death is more important than writing stories to entertain me.
