My Style and Reason for writing, and dealing with people! · 12:48am Apr 23rd, 2016
I am very angry right now (With all that's been happening lately) But I'm not trying to start any fights here, I'm just finally standing up for myself and Speaking my opinions
As you know, I write a certain way (My way) which many people seem to take a pleasure riffing me, throwing it my face and being unecessarily rude and obnoxious to me, and even then some they tell me things like...
"Make your characters believable"
"Make them suck less"
"Make them less stuish, flat."
"I have more respect for toddlers calling out politicians than you, ya selfish dick!"
"unless you do some new reprehensible act, I'll be finished with you"
"nobody cares about you or your pathetic excuses for literature
"do you know why this story succeeds where yours fails? You may have created the characters Legendbringer is using, but Legendbringer made me *care* about them."
What you can't say a simple "I'm sorry, but I just don't like your fic, but good try anyway" and then just let it go? Or better yet and just keep it to yourself?
Well, I'm here to tell you my reasons, and my desires in writing and in characteristics (At least to my preferred extent)
Firstly I have seen so many shows, cartoons, movies, played a ton of video games and stuff, and guess what... Not a SINGLE one of them has truly given me what I really wanted.
-All my favorite shipping sank (Not one of them worked out)
-The characters ended up doing things I don't approve of, don't like, and never do what I wanted them to do.
-even when it remotely looks like they're finally about to do something I want, or have done something I want, along the way, that ridiculous, overbearing, idiotic concept... um, what's it called... oh ya "Character growth/development" make them completely flip flop (They still end up not doing what I wanted, thereby erasing any good marks I would've given them)

(Aware that the show is mainly for kids... still)
-I am so sick and tired of all the happy ever afters and that friendship conquers all; that is not how the real world works. Friendship is NOT the true magic.
-In the entire series, the only REMOTE half decent villain I see is Sombra, and even then he failed. He did enslave and enforce misery, but that's just not evil enough for me, and on top of that he was defeated so easily and in a very short time. LAME!!
-Moondancer forgave Twilight and made amends... so did Starflight Glimmer?! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!! I wanted to them to continue to refuse Twilight's friendship moves and make Twilight FINALLY realize that friendship cannot fix all things!
And MLP is not the only place, there are other shows that have always let me down...
...And what am I told from all this?
"Move on!"
"Get over yourself!"
"Then go find another show."
"You can't always get what you want."
That last one is true, I can't always get what I want, but that's no excuse for I NEVER get what I want, and as for the other three, how can you possibly move on when the same thing happens over, and over and over? A guy can only take so much disappointment.
So, I stopped holding my breath. I don't get into new shows as often, and I don't go trying new things. I even stopped going to the movies (Haven't been in 10 years and counting) What's the point in going if it's gonna suck and let me down AGAIN anyway.
I have never gotten what I wanted out of anything I've seen, and judging from the "wonderful" attitudes I get from people, it's obvious they're not going to give me what I want either, just bully, badger me, try enforce me to fight for their cause, or accept their beliefs.
...heh! If you were denied of this much for so long, even you would have been pushed over the edge.
So... there was no other alternative but to start writing my own fanfiction; after all, the old saying goes... "When you want something done right, you've gotta do it yourself!
If you don't like them, that's fine, you don't even have to read them (I may have posted the fics, but I didn't force you to read them... you did that on your own accord.)
If you want to express your opinions, can't you do it gently and calmly instead of saying things like...

What... would it kill you to say something encouraging, or at least give me a kudos for at least trying? Do you HAVE to be be an ogre and bash me with your club? (I don't think so)
I don't write fics for fun and enjoyment (That's the least bit of the percentage) I write them to blow off steam, get a little payback and maybe cool off when I'm angry, and I post them so maybe I can find other people who might like them (Aware of the negativity bound to come... hence; do you have to be an ogre?)
I portray the characters the way I WANT them, and HOW I WANT THEM TO BEHAVE, since I was denied so much.

Why should I? They never gave me what I want, why I should I give them what they want? I'm the one writing MY fics, not they! Besides, (And I speak form experience) even when I do something they ask, they still give me grief (Deliberately no less)
I give people the same courtesy they bestowed on me.
You think I'm just some lolcow? You think I'm someone who deserves to be punished simply for his taste in entertainment and lifestyle? You think my characters deserve to be mocked and put in other fanfics so you turn them into characters I don't like and do things I don't want them doing?
Well guess what? "What goes around comes around" You don't like what I do to MLP, well maybe you know how I feel for how you treated me and my characters. (Yeah, I stooped to their level, but hey, if it's the only language they understand...)
I tried to be peaceful, but after all the attitude I get and the continuous slander and mocks; it's obvious you don't want peace, so nuclear it is (And you call yourselves bronies)
So that's why I write fics and the way I write them.
...You try being denied and being poked at as long as I have and tell me you're not pissed enough to want to punch a hole in a wall.
I can't sleep well at night (I'm so angry and my mind so full of alternative WHAT IFs and other plots that could've happened, I can't go to sleep)
Writing and posting helps me, writing them and not posting them doesn't work and is pointless anyway (Why create something like this if you don't intend to share it) and no it is not for practice or improving.
Some people, who haven't exactly been as hostile have tried to "so-called" help me improve my writing, only for it to always end the same way... they give very bad advice that does not help a bit, and contradictory information that only hinders me more and more due to lack of understanding and confusion, and further the most important things...
...I didn't come to improve my writing, and the way you want me to improve (Change things) What then? Now the characters are all wrong, acting in ways I hate and don't want them too... the plot is not going my way... you just let down again. I can't live a lie!
I'm sorry, but you just can't/won't help me... not like that. All you're really doing is just badgering me and trying to enforce me to be like YOU, and thinking up things that have been good for YOU and maybe those LIKE YOU... but not for me.
So, again, I make fics and post them...the way I like them...
-to cool off
-to sleep better
-to maybe find others who will appreciate my tastes
-to finally get what I want for once since no one and nothing will give it to me
...in other words, think of it as a war of revenge (A war of nerves)
You don't like it, that's fine, but you don't have to be an ogre about it. It's just fan-fiction, if you got a problem with it or me, can't we just talk this out without people going ogre and making up lies and poking at me? And if we can't come to an agreement, can't we just agree to disagree and leave each other alone (Which also means STOP being an ogre at me)
...That is all. I feel very dizzy right now for having said all that.
Before you read this, understand that I do not post this with any malicious intent whatshowever. Also, I get the feeling I'm talking about something else here, but let's say I also said certain things about your fanfiction.
I'm not trying to start a fight either. I've read your blog, and despite being one of the people who riffed your stories I understand why you do the things the way you do. Because of this, I want you to understand that I write this post as an explanation of why I personally riff your story (or any story for that matter).
Regarding riffing, I can only speak for myself, and my personal reason is, and I hate to say this, enjoyment.
Before I continue, you must know that I do not hate your fanfiction, or most of the fanfics on this site or any site. In fact, I don't even dislike your fanfictions all that much. At most, I'm indifferent to them, but hate is a VERY strong word regarding fanfiction for me.
All my comments in riffs, and I do not limit this to yours alone, are exaggerated. See them as comments made by a persona, an act I set up similarly to Doug Walker and the Nostalgia Critic. I understand that some people may be offended by certain comments we (I and my fellow riffers) make, but understand that I riff fanfiction to entertain people.
I hope you read all of this and understand why I do what I do. Like I said, I understand that riffs may feel as an attack, but,as I said, I don't intend my comments to be malicious intent, but rather toget a reaction from the people who read them.

I have to ask, what is so wrong with character development? You say it makes characters do what you don't want but you don't specify what it is you don't want the characters to do

If I specified that, the blog would go on and on and on... it's simply a matter of "What I like" and "what I don't like"
