Roleplay for writing and Why I write what I write. Also on the subject of requests. · 12:03am Apr 22nd, 2016
For those of you wondering how I churn out extremely graphic clop even though I've only had this account for about a month-ish, here is my secret.
I'm VERY experienced in ad libbing smut, and I have that experience because I've been roleplaying since I was a wee little thing surfing the internet for the first time. While extremely graphic roleplaying is not going to make you a grammatical wizard, it WILL improve your ability to describe what is going on to the characters at hand.
These weren't simple one liner rps either. These were sweeping multi paragraph posts, describing the fictional escapades of the characters for dozens of pages before the interest finally died down. When you are playing one of these rps with someone, your ability to describe what is going on to their character to the point where they can visualize it is absolutely paramount. If you are only giving the most antiseptic summary of what is going on, then you would get more action out of a sex ed book. At least that thing has accompanying pictures.
Its a great way to put into practice that old phrase "show don't tell." We hear that, and we get what that means, but its been reiterated so much that it almost doesn't mean anything at all.
Don't just tell me your character is sucking my characters cock. What does that thing taste like? What does it smell like? What does it feel like on their tongue? How far back into your character's mouth is it going? Are they happy they are doing it, or are they a bit flustered? How into it are they? What are they looking at while they are moving along its length? Have they ever done this before? What are their facial expressions? Where are they doing this? What position are they in at that moment? Is it a comfortable position? Are they getting turned on? What are they hoping is going to be my characters reaction to this treatment?
You are trying to paint a picture of the event in the other persons mind, and giving them enough description that they could create that image with all five senses as well as hints into what that individual is thinking and feeling will go MILES to make your smutty post that much more pleasing to the recipient.
Writing Clop is like writing a one way RP in this sense. The difference is in an RP you have someone on the other end that (If they are a good rper) is looking for something very specific and has explained this before the rp even starts. With Clop on the other hand, you have absolutely no idea who is going to run into your story or if they are even going to like your themes. While I could certainly please most any rper I've played with, this isn't going to be the case with this site.
Because of my level of experience when it comes to Rping, I've quite literally performed pretty much every fetish you can think of. You get terribly bored with the basic positions after awhile and finding new ways to describe how bouncing on top of someone is interesting. This is why my fics are going to be very off the wall for the most part, because I'm writing these things from a VERY desensitized place. Your basic run of the mill love scene just isn't going to do it for me. It needs to be kinky, it needs to affront more chaste minded individuals sensibilities, It needs at least a few fetishes worked in there before I could even begin to get enjoyment out of it.
Which brings me to the topic of requests. After the Ember fics all skyrocketed to the featured box (thanks for that by the way :3 ) I've gotten a few requests for stories. I'm completely open to requests;
Just keep in mind that if I'm writing it, and its for free, then your pal Barealot needs some fun with it too. If you come to me with a clear idea of what your looking for and the kinds of kinks you are after, I can certainly tell you if I'd do it or not. All I ask is that is that it makes some kind of sense for whomever the characters are to be in that situation. If I can't find an internal logic to work with, I can't visualize it properly. If I can't visualize it properly, I sure as hell can't paint that image into another person's mind.
That's all for now. Thank you all for the warm reception!
I've been meaning to ask if you RP!
I must agree, though I don't publish a lot, role playing has kept my writing skills in practice and keeps me working with ideas. I'll pm you and we can see if we can work something out!
