History as Told By Twilight Twinkle

Hello, everypony! Twilight Twinkle here. I'm here to tell you about Equestrian history!
You see, about 2,000 years ago Princess Twilight Sparkle-the Princess of Friendship -ruled over Ponyville with the rest of the original element bearers. What does that have to do with anything today, you ask? A lot.

Some of the ponies here in modern Ponyville are related to them. Our very own Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, and I are descendants of the Elements of Harmony. Our very own Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Spice are descendants of the well-known "Cutie Mark Crusaders". Even Matser Kenbroath Gilspotten Heathspike is related to Spike the dragon who saved the Crystal Empire.

Speaking of the Crystal Empire, it is forbidden to visit. Why is is forbidden, you ask? Well, many years back Princess Celestia and Princess Luna died in their slumbers. They were more than 1,000 years old, maybe even 2,000! Anyway, after their passing, Celestia's nephew, Prince Blueblood took over Canterlot and basically ruined the place for everypony! Blueblood got whatever he wanted. He got all the mares, food, and several material things he ever wanted. Twilight and Cadance tried to reason with him but he had them arrested instead. The princesses broke out of prison-with their magic, of course-and had him dethroned.

So, who was going to rule over Canterlot? And what does this have to do with the Crystal Empire? Well...Cadance decided to rule over Canterlot, with Shining Armor helping her, of course. Princess Flurry Heart, Shining and Cadence's daughter, was a filly at this time. Her parents entrusted her to be the next ruler of the Crystal Empire. Flurry Heart's advisor, Sunburst helped her with her magic and gave her advice. Sunburst was more of a "father figure" to Flurry than Shining.

It is currently unknown what really happened to Cadance and Shining Armor when they died. Some rumors state that they natural causes, others say that Blueblood escaped from prison and poisoned them. Whatever happened to them, it upset Flurry Heart. But not "upset" like most ponies get, I mean "upset" as in becoming the next Nightmare ruler. The Mane 6, Spike, and Sunburst tried to pry the evil out of her by using spells and such, but it was too late. Altogether, they could not stop her from wrecking havoc on the Crystal Empire. They later died of old age, with their children trying to finish the job their parents started-to stop Flurry Heart.

Well, I guess their children were unsuccessful, because Flurry closed all of the borders leading to the Crystal Empire and proclaimed herself the title of "Queen Flurry Heart". The Crystal ponies are diminishing because Flurry Heart has used them as her slaves. She's like a combination of Sombra and Nightmare Moon, but with the power of all the princesses put together. Only the four crystal ponies: Flower Garland, Glitterbelle, Secret Wish, and Tangerine Twinkle escaped and lived. The ponies told me that she only calmed down slightly when her foal was born-that's when they escaped-and that they never want to return back there. I don't blame them. Apparently, her female foal was stolen and may or may not still be living.

Anyway, most ponies call Flurry, nicknames like Nightmare Blizzard, Queen Furry Heart, and The Evil Queen. Whelp, I'd better be going now, I promised Minty, that I'd help paint her room green. Wish me luck!
