    Rebranding

Yeah, I was gone a while. Almost four years... last I checked. Stuff's happened, none of which I want to touch on right now due to the soreness still present. Just know that it involves family deaths and suffering both physical and emotional... not to mention the current political, biological, and sociological climate affecting the world, which has already left scars on me. I am very much lucky

Greetings all, It's been another long while since I made a blog post about... well, anything. A lot has happened since then. Some of you may already know this, but for those that don't let me give you a small rundown (Those interested in the 'finer details', look in my other account, Nicknack, for the Pchan Link to the thread, the note, and the responses).

Good friend of mine (and somewhat famous writer on his own right) Nicknack left the fandom due to personal reasons. It is unknown at this time if he will be returning, though from his last message, there is a very strong possibility he will not. However, due to our close relations, he passed all story details on to me, essentially tasking me with finishing both "Heart of Gold", "Summer Flames" and a planned sequel yet to be named. To do this, he not only gave me his full drive and all notes and incomplete chapters, but also full control of his own FIMfiction account (which I've already updated, oddly enough negating this one till tonight).

So, in a strange turn of events, I am now both Garnot and Nicknack, and I'm in charge of both the "Equestria Noir" story, as well as Nick's work (and I mean EVERYTHING).

So, needless to say, this--coupled with life issues (job hunt, schooling, those little crazed midget ghost that come at night and always take my right socks; not sure why)--more or less means that I'll be quite occupied. However, I'll make strives to ensure it does not get in the way of reviews, as well as any 'non pony' writing I might have down the pipes.

At any rate, here is the updates

Salty shores is currently being re-written. The story will retain its trademark 'lovecraftian' feel while at the same time expanding on the events portrayed. Rather than two sole chapters, I am now planning a couple, though an exact number remains difficult to say for sure.

Closer to Heaven will be removed from the "Equestria Noir Chronilcles" section and will be given its own world to grow in. The story will also see some expansion, though how much is hard to say for sure.

Finally, Equestria Noir has gone through heavy re-writing, changing the setting and characters somewhat. All I can say is that the story will play out quite differently while still retaining elements that made the original somewhat liked (though, by the view count, no one can really claim that). To facilitate what I know will be a time period where there is more or less 'nothing', I'll go ahead and post a little side-project I worked on while re-writing EqN. It started as a form of outline, but it later turned into a 60+ page manual that more or less explains the world of EqN is as simple terms as I could without turning the work into a 100+ page monstrosity (and trust me, there is a lot to cover that I left out). Expect that as soon as I get it appraised, as well as I complete the final section dealing with schools of magic.

That more or less covers definite projects down the line. There are others, but everything is liable to change.

Till we meet again, this is Garnot/Nicknack.

Just reinforcing the fact that this account is--sadly--now mine...

I'm happy that Salty Shores is getting an overhaul. It is definitively one of the most unique fanfics out there. Strangely enough, Two Beats by Nicknack popped into my mind today ('cuz it was one of the first fanfics I've read {the third, to be exact}). I tried to access it but GDocs gave me an error. When I did further research, I happened to stumble upon you, Mr. Garnot, detailing your friend's situation.
While I do wish him the best, I can't help but feel a bit selfish by asking this. Anyway, here it goes: Is Two Beats going to get an overhaul as well? If not, is there a way to find that story? I just wish to re-live what I felt when I first read it.

(I remember reading that Samurai, from ponychan, still has it. If so, should I contact him about it? Rest assured that, if I do get a "copy" of it, I will not share with others if asked not to.)

Thanks.

Heh, funny you should mention Two Beats. The story has indeed been updated (more like remastered). I shall be posting the update blog, as well as the link along with it.

As for my other work, yes, everything will see an update, the biggest being Equestria Noir. Keep an eye out for it in the very near future, staring of course, with Salty Shores.

393289 Thanks, Garnot. I sure will.
