The Rest of the Shard Universe (part 1) · 2:30am Apr 7th, 2016
I have mentioned it before, but I am saying now very clearly.
I will not be continuing the Shard series. I know some of you are disappointed and I'm sorry.
If someone else wants to take some of the ideas in it or continue it in their own way, go ahead but give me notice when it first gets published.
However, since I'm not continuing it, I am going to share what was planned and going to happen. There are going to be a lot of spoilers since this is what I had in mind but never written.
The next story in the series would have been about Rarity getting The Element of Laughter. For one reason or another, Rarity would be attending an entertainment performance in Las Pegasus where ponies would be singing, performing stand-up comedy, and other activities that she would have on the stage of her night club. Her friends would be there as well, and she would even run into Blueblood, who would be a business rival and former romantic interest. One of the groups performing would the sirens, who use their power on the audience. In the end, it would come down to Rarity to stop them, using her wit and humor to do so, and activating The Element of Laughter in the process. There was also a possibility of Sunset Shimmer showing up, giving The Alicorn Amulet to Blueblood and recruiting him for Sombra.
While I have the next to ponies in order, I actually keep going back and forth on who gets which element.
Applejack's story is not as developed as Rarity's. Applejack would be in Manehattan for a check-up and to have her mechanical limbs upgraded and improved (they are still in the experimental stage). During her visit, a massive blizzard created by Sombra's windigo would strike. During this, Applejack would end up finding a lost pony about Apple Bloom's age. Applejack would feel protective of them, trying to get them someplace while trying to keep them in a good mood. In a dark twist, the pony ends up getting hurt, losing the use of their hind legs. Applejack would then give up her appointment and possible upgrades, allowing the young pony to take her place. This would then activate her Element of Harmony, which she would then take back with her to Ponyville.
The basics with Pinkie Pie's is that it would take place in Appleloosa where the last element would be found. There, she would come across the changeling that she had met at Flim and Flam's show, who would be looking similar to Pinkie and calling herself "Pinkamena" and wants to take over Pinkie's life. Except that Pinkie refuses to fight Pinkamena, trying to help her out instead, and possibly even offering to let Pinkamena have Pinkie's life if it will actually help. In the end, Pinkamena can't hurt Pinkie and breaks down, with Pinkie comforting her.
This would not all happen consecutively, however. There would be some filler and world building stories that take place between these, including King Sombra building up his forces further.
This all leads up to the big finale. Using the windigo, King Sombra isolates Ponyville before unleashing his fully amassed army on them. This would include The Shadowbolts led by Lightning Dust, the sirens, the parasprites, Sunset Shimmer and Prince Blueblood, and any others he gathered through the series. The six would be under attack, trying to protect themselves and others in Ponyville. It would be during a battle with King Sombra that Fluttershy would unlock the final element, and with it use the full power of them to defeat Sombra and save Ponyville.
That is the stories that would have happened for certain. I'll make another journal in a few days that shares more information of the universe as a whole.
