If I was a Gym Leader... · 10:03pm Apr 5th, 2016

I would be fought pretty late in whatever game; most likely either seventh or eight gym. The Poison type is my one and only specialty.

My gym would be based around falling platforms and quick thinking, much like my Mario Maker levels. It would have a desert theme as poisonous animals more than usually come from the desert (also I love desert levels). My personality would be pretty much how I am now; arrogant, slightly annoying and a little harsh sometimes, but kind and respectful of people's boundaries. Also cracks a few jokes every now and then.

Then, my battle!

You are challenged by Leader Kamek!

Now, I have a challenge for you! Everyone in the comments below tell me what your Gym Leader team would be! You are only allowed 3-5 Pokemon, but everything else is completely your choice. What moves would your Pokemon have? What would their level be (please try to keep it 55 or lower)? What type would you specialize in? And does one of them Mega Evolve?

Please! I want to hear what you guys can come up with!

It would be cool if one of the Pokemon games let you go through a series of tests to become a gym leader, I'm sure several of the Pokemon veterans would appreciate that (maybe your gym leader status could get posted online with the type of trainer you registered as, it would be even more interesting if some or all of those leaders players made showed up as official gym leaders in the succeeding generation with appropriately aged up forms and updated pokemon to match the new region, but that's just my thoughts on the matter.

As cool as that sounds, that may never actually be a thing. :twilightsheepish:

Hmm...

Eevees!:rainbowwild: Just kidding!

Hmmm....

I'm thinking... maybe, uh, Dark? Or Fairy. Or maybe Dragon! I don't know what my specialty would be...

I'll be back. I'm gonna look at my favorite Pokémon and decide.

I 'd be the fifth gym leader. I specialize in Fire type pokemon. My gym has a volcano design that has lava flowing down the volcano to block the trainer's path and make it harder to get to me. My personality would be that I have a short temper that would make me look tough, but I also have a soft side.

3850571 True, very few of us know how to get in touch with the game developers, and those that do most likely haven't gotten a response back on anything. I Pokemon game where you could become a gym leader, start your own organization, run a daycare center, or establish a lab for studying pokemon probably will never happen, those of us that grew up with some of the older generations of the game would like that kind of thing to happen, and truth be told something like that might make the game open to wider audience of newcomers, but all we're probably gonna get is a new region with with even more new pokemon to ad to the ever growing list of pokemon to catch.

3850580 ironic, I was going to say an eevee gym theme. I'll probably go dragon or dark, one of the two.

3850626
3850580 Why not go with Eevee and some of its evolutions, maybe you could be a paired leader gym (there's at least one the series proper)

3850580
You do that. Be sure it's a specific type though!

ALRIGHTY! *cracks knuckles* LET'S DO DIS!

Theme: Factory
The 4th gym leader

Gym Leader: Scrawny, Tinkering with a small machine, A bit nervous due to him recently becoming the Gym leader. Most people think that he is bossy, but is probably because of Aegislash's presence.

Team of Pokemon
1) Magnemite, Lv. 27 (Sturdy ability)
a: Spark
b: Signal Beam
c: Magnet Rise
d: Volt Switch
Item: Cell Battery
2) Scizor, Lv. 33, Male (Technician ability)
a: Cut
b: Furry Cutter
c: Thief
d: Mimic
3) Metang, Lv. 30 (Clear body ability)
a: Strength
b: Telekinesis
c: Bulldoze
d: Signal beam
4) Aegislash, Lv. 36
a: King's Shield
b: Sacred Sword
c: Substitute
d: Destiny Bond
Item: King's Rock

Gym Layout: Gym looks like a factory, layout has you riding conveyor belts in a few areas, and you have to use levers to reverse belts and shut off electricity blocking the way. Trainers will use mostly steel Pokemon, but one will have an electric type that is not steel. He's hiding on a secret path thats holds a revive. When the player gets to the Gym leader, Aegislash stands to the left of the leader. When you win, you get the Ironworks badge and HM04 Strength

3850626
3850635

An Eevee gym would never happen!:raritycry:

3850670

Okay!... That did not work out... I found no specific type I'm in favor of...

...

I'm pathetic!

3850715 You could be a dual type gym, I don't recall seeing any of those. What are the 2 types you like most?

3850719

No... That wouldn't work either... I like all the types Eevee can become a lot of types!

3850723 Normal types that can become other types? It might just qualify.

A desert level does sound cool!
For me, I'd make it kinda like a candy store! And I'll be like the third gym leader. My personality would be childish and a little out there. I would be a...fairy type! Oh, and it would be double battle

Team: Slurpuff
Ability: Unburden
Level: 33
Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Round, Tackle
Items: Sitrus Berries
Gender: Female

Audino
Ability: Healer
Level: 35
Moves: Heal Pulse, Double Slap, Secret Power, Helping Hand
Items: Audinite
Gender: Female

Togetic
Ability: Serene Grace
Level: 33
Moves: Hidden Power, Wish, Extrasensory, Magical Leaf
Items: Lum Berry
Gender: Male

3850780
Ah, the Fairy type! Such a curious type, no?
Anyway, nice picks!

3850688
Hey, that was actually really fleshed out. Nice! The guys on the Pokemon forum barely did the more organized way. :rainbowlaugh:

3850831 Thank you! Glad to see that you like it.

3850601
Sorry for not replying sooner. :twilightsheepish:
Anyway, great list! Though, perhaps Houndoom should be the main Pokemon here if it's gonna have the Houndoomite? :applejackunsure:

3850952 I'll change it
EDIT: done

I would comment like how these other people below me. But I'm too lazy so I'll just say and ask this. I would be Dark and has there been any dark type gym leaders in any games?

3850989
Uh...

...there's been a Dark type elite four? :twilightsheepish:

No, there are no Dark type gyms... :ajsleepy:

...yet. :rainbowdetermined2:

3851029 O DAM! NOT A SINGLE DARK TYPE GYM?! O dam. Interesting. If you'll excuse me...

I would be the final Leader in Johto, with no set type. I also wouldn't have any Gym Trainers or traps.

"You've done well to make it this far, now let's see if you have what it takes to challenge the Pokemon League."

My team would be as follows:(note:all moves were taken from Seribii.net, before anyone calls foul on my moveset.)

Sceptile
Gender: Male
Level: 50
Moves: Giga Drain
Dragon Breath
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Mega-Evolution capable

Pikachu
Gender: Female
Level: 52
Moves: Thunder
Rain Dance
Surf
Iron Tail

Glaceon
Level: 55
Gender: Female
Moves: Ice Beam
Toxic
Water Pulse
Shadow Ball

Delphox
Level:54
Gender: Male
Moves: Shadow Ball
Blast Burn
Thunder Punch
Psychic

Swampert
Level: 53
Gender:Male
Moves: Hydro Cannon
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Toxic

When the player loses:

"Hmm. Go out and train your Pokemon some more before challenging me again.

When the player wins:

"Well well. You just might be able to take the League on after all."

They then get the Heart Badge. (Cause their bond with their Pokemon and stuff)
Afterwards, they can come back to face my best Pokemon.

"Heh. Look at you. Pokemon League Champion. But you didn't get here alone. Neither did I. Let's go."

Typhlosion
Level: 100
Gender: Male
Moves: Blast Burn
Dig
Solar Beam
Thunder Punch

After the battle:

"You and your Pokemon have quite the bond. Cherish it, and keep growing. I can't wait to see the hights y'all will reach."

3851089
No type specialty? Hey, it's your team! Though, I question why you have a Pikachu and not the higher powered Raichu. :rainbowhuh: Also, I know that you're trying to be overpowered; and don't get me wrong, I love it! Only... some of these moves would be pathetically easy to deal with. :twilightsheepish: Thunder Punch on a special attacking Pokemon? Really?

If you're somewhat new to Pokemon, I can help you make a better team using these exact Pokemon. Just wait until I get back from my trip today and I'll show you the ropes.

3851282 One of my favorite things a NPC has ever said in a game is: "I don't use the same strong Pokemon as everyone else. I prefer to win with my favorites." I just prefer Pikachu to Raichu. As for my moves, I like to cover my weaknesses. Trust me, I've been at this since the Gameboy Color days, and it shows in my old-fashioned strategies.:twilightsheepish:

Where did you find the pic of that Mega Crobat? Is it fanmade or official?

3851793
As much as I WISH it was real, it's unfortunately fake. :ajsleepy:

...Crobat... One day, my friend...

I would be a Dragon trainer and have 4 in my team and they would be:
Dragonair img06.deviantart.net/1de8/i/2010/009/c/f/dragonair_by_roky320.png
Level 43, Female, her moves are: Aqua Tail, Dragon Rage, Agility and Dragon Dance

Gabite i.ytimg.com/vi/S2135HoYxD8/hqdefault.jpg
Level 42, male, his moves are: Dig, Dragon Rage, Slash and Dragon Claw

Shelgon pldh.net/media/dreamworld/372.png
40, male, his moves are: Protect, Headbutt, Dragon Breath and Bite

Haxorus orig14.deviantart.net/800b/f/2011/155/0/c/haxorus_v_3_by_xous54-d3i1yaq.png
48, male, his moves are: Outrage, Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw and Counter.

By defeating me they would get the Dragon claw bagde and the move Dragon Dance, I would seem fierce but have a great sense of humor.
