I'm a long time science fiction and animation fan who stumbled into My Little Pony fandom and got caught -- I guess I'm a Brony Forever now.

    Shipping Sunset Shimmer with Sci-Twi

    I. A Tale of Two Shows When I wrote the few pieces of fiction I have set in the Equestria Girls side continuity, I wrote them from the assumption that Sunset Shimmer was heterosexual and passionate (though at first sexually-inexperienced, due to her youth at the time of entering the Humanoid world). Given this, my unfinished prequel (An Equestrian Gentlemare) was chiefly

    Generic Likely Equestrian Future

This assumes a vanilla Equestrian future, rather than the specific one of the Shadow Wars Story Verse, though some of the comments apply to my SWSV as well. Generally, the SWSV Equestria advances faster than this, as can be seen by reference to the noted story.

Fragment - Irreconcilable Differences · 6:49am Apr 5th, 2016

This is an example of the sort of Story Fragments I shed like dandruff. This is set a few years in the future of the Equestria Girls world, crossed over with -- well, it should be obvious.

In their defense, the men and women of the Night Watch -- the paranormal defense agency of the North Amareican Federation -- are highly professional. And difficult to intimidate. One has to be both, when one may at any moment find oneself facing anything from crazed cultists to supernatural terorrists, to members of nonhuman ultra-terrestrial races, to eldritch horrors from beyond our world.

Two young women, walking right up to the security booth at the front gates, were not all that exceptional. The personnel of the Night Watch had sisters, daughters, girlfriends and wives. Some of them even were young women -- the Night Watch had long since assimilated the effects of feminine egalitarianism -- and, in truth, had valued females among its ranks long before the great social changes of the 1940's through 1960's, when an economy short of young men due to the Wars had been forced to hire young women in record numbers.

The two young women were, however, rather strange-looking, even by the standards of a world in which Humankind had evolved (or been engineeered, as those who had read deeply into the Night Watch archives will knew) a variable color palette of skin, hair and eyes which even the most dementedly-gorgeous tropical birds might only envy. It was both their color schemes, and the contrasts in their attitudes.

The taller of the two had a slim, willowy build which, due to her overall appearance, entirely failed to be winsome. Her skin was black -- not dark brown nor even dark gray, but an utter and unrelieved black which seemed to drink in the daylight, absorbing al and giving back nothing. Her hair was a sickly yellowish-green, hanging long and lank like that of a corpse dead of drowning. Big, huge-pupilled eyes, the same color as her hair, stared at the guards, and at the whole world around her, with an expression that might best be described as cynical boredom.

Her companion was close to her opposite. She was short and a little plump, with pink skin, slightly darker and reddish-pink hair, and big wide innocent blue eyes, whose gaze wandered whimsically over her surroundings in a mildly de-focused manner. Her pink hair, sweater and knee-boots could all be best described as very fluffy.

The senior of the two guards on duty, Corporal White Rice, a small pleasant-faced man who had come of Celestial Empire immigrants several generations back, gaped at the two approaching women, his extremely-flat and porcelain-white face forming the perfect picture of surprise as he regarded them. He scratched his short, straight and glossy-block hair in puzzlement.

"Get a load of those two, Yay," he said to the PFC beside him in the booth. Private Fo Yay was another Celestial-Amareican, in his case a tall man with spiky purple hair and lavender skin, looked up from the sheaf of 'Wanted' bulletins he had been perusing. His eyes fixed on the tall dark woman, at first in frank admiration, then in widening in astonishment and alarm. He lunged forward, slammed his fist down on a button, then grabbed his rifle.

"What's the big ...?" began White, as the warning lights flashed and sirens whooped.

"Her!" replied Fo Yay tensely , as he unlocked the safety on his rifle and selected "burst" mode.

"Who's 'her?'" asked White, readying his own rifle. He knew that Fo was no fool, and didn't aim to become the 'stupid guard who demonstrate the villain's abilities' just to stand on his one level of superior rank.

Fo Yay told him.

White gasped in horror, leveled his own rife at the dark woman, and prayed silently that he would still be alive a minute from now.

"I really think I should have Shifted before I let them see me," Queen Chrysalis drawled to her Prime Consort, the Element of Tacos herself, Fluffle Puff. "Now they're going to shoot both of us".

Fluffle Puff made some distinctly negative, then reassuring sounds, then turned to smile at the two guards who were both covering them with their automatic rifles. Or, to be precise, covering Chrysalis with their automatic rifles. Fluffle Puff, as usual, had encountered no hostility at all.

"I stand corrected," Chrysalis murmurred. "They're only going to shoot me. You, on the other hand, will probably wind up their new best friend."

The sounds of multiple vehicular engines wafted on the breeze from the direction of the Night Watch headquarters.

Fluffle Puff hugged Chrysalis, made an affectionate cooing noise.

"Yes," sid Chrysalis, at first standing stiffly. "Mmm .. yesss ..." she continued, her voice melting and her muscles slightly relaxing as she drank in some of her Consort's seemingly-limitless Love. Fluffle-Puff's Love was incredibly pure, and delicious beyond compare. What made it all the better was that Fluffle-Puff knew exactly who and what Chrysalis was, and yet loved her anyway. "All right," Chrysalis said, "I get it. I'm your best friend." She gently kissed the pink girl on the top of her head.

Several light trucks pulled up. Body-armored fireteams, armed with an interestingly-diverse variety of weapons, spilled out and dispersed into a loose skirmish line. Two heavy machine guns, and something that looked like some sort of prototype particle beam cannon, swivelled to point directly at the Changeling Queen.

"You should know," Chrysalis said calmly to her fluffy Consort, "even my defenses won't hold up to sustained fire from those. and my regeneration will do me absolutely no good if I'm blown to bits. Your Love is the best, and it empowers me -- but even I am not omnipotent." She frowned at the admission. "Impressive though I am," she added.

Fluffle-Puff hugged Chrysalis more tightly, made some more noises.

Chrysalis sighed. "Love-Locked," she mutttered. "I am hopelessly Love-Locked." She looked at her short pink fluffy companion. "Very well," she said. "I'll go with your plan. Though I do not think it will work the way you imagine."

As if to counterpoint her comment, the sound of a helicopter engine rose in volume, as the helicopter gunship roared over the base buildings, its chin cannon, missiles and rockets all pointed directly at the pair.

"Well," said Chrysalis. "At least they take me seriously."

That was certainly fun. I've got to wonder, though, what this Night Watch would make of Twilight and her dimension hopping antics. It might be best if they never find out about her...

I'm not sure what I love the most about this. I think it may be that the Element of Tacos is actually a thing in this setting. There's a joke to be made about Fluffle and Sonata Dusk both being avatars of that particular Concept. That, or the human world's Tree of Harmony germinated in a food court.

Funnily, this version of Chrissy most likely won't be blown to bits by nuclear fire, so being love-locked is a much better fate. And hey at least she can get them both out of dodge if things go south since she's been juiced up to the max.

The Element of Tacos isn't really a thing in the EG-verse, is it? Then again that place may have more then six anyway.

Did I miss something?

I haven't yet written the scene, but the ultimate fate of Hive Chrysalis, at that point called Hive Hunger-Prime, is to sink into a lake of molten radioactives caused by its earthfire reactor being deliberately set to melt down.

Omg you follow fluffle puff! i love that tumblr account

Not only do I follow Fluffle Puff, but I have a whole rationale for the existence and nature of the Fluffy Ponies. They're the Daughers of Paradise, and Fluffle Puff's one of the occasional, special very powerful one. She doesn't exist on my main worldline, but the Fluffy Ponies in general do.

This is amazing! Oh god I can see it so well.
