So, I guess I'm going to give the story a shot, but before I get started we're going to have the first vote on it! You're asking how? Well it's simple, mix-up brought up a few points in the last blog about something that I didn't take into account. Now I'm on the fence about it (Though it wont change the story much). So for the first vote:
1. The humans (Because it's an HIE) turn into ponies or,
2. Leave them human.
option 1's consequence: they wont be able t distinguish themselves from the ponies which could lead to misunderstandings and other misfortunes. However, this also adds the advantage of being trusted by the ponies a little easier as they might just view them as imaginative ponies...or they're crazy
Option 2's consequence: They will be able to pick each other out of crowds which makes banding together all the more likely. The ponies however will be a bit scared of the new arrivals as Equestria has never seen anything like them. How the ponies treat them all depends on the actions of a few.
If you don't like these options then let me know. I might add another later if I think about it.
well if the point is to get the humans together as fast as possible, then I think it would be better that they stay human or that they are all rounded up in the loony bin together. The problem that I foresees is that you would really need to work on your dialogues while interacting with the different characters. you have trouble sustaining a conversation between characters and it is what really hurt some of your previous stories in the past.
I have no idea what the story you have in mind is, but option one sounds better. Then you wouldn't need to get used to a new body, and hands are just useful in general.

3846555 Actually, they'd have been in equestria long enough for them to know about each other and a small group to have begun forming. I was thinking I'd start it in a town that they decided to create until they could figure out what to do. Namely how they'd try going home (For some) or how to live life there. Also , I know about the conversation problems which is why I'm going to try and get someone to write dialogue for other characters. That's why "laughing masks" Didn't have the problem as badly as my other stories.

3846599 for the turning pony stuff they might be given talismans that allow some of them to be Earth Ponies if they want to later in the story, but if it is the case I think it would be better if they create it themselves, to show that they can be self-reliant when they need to. But It would probably have some hiccups with using it, like they can't replace their regular diet with that of a pony's, so they still have to watch out what they eat and that the adjustment and the transformation might not be painful but but it sometime is perfect like either like a guy still has a human ear or didn't grow a proper tail and such and they all have the same set of teeth on them.
3846645 That's a good idea, but it seems like one of those thing I'd leave up for a reader decision. Still, it might make an appearance if I write them as still human at the start.
I personally prefer for the humans to stay humans. I'm fine with either, but that's my preference.

3846660 The problem with a large number human being ponies that it would be difficult to recognize each other for having been human in the first place, so that they can gather together more easily , with out being directly integrating in an existing pony community and how to get them to prove that whey weren't ponies before they cam. all that would be a story into itself. Also how many human are there in this community? And how near are they from the nearest pony settlement?
3846679 To answer some of your questions.
1. they are bronies so inside jokes would result in identification most likely. I might give them a particular kink to their appearance that would be obvious if you knew about it.
2. I was thinking between a few dozen to 75 at most. Not all get screen time and we wont meet them all. There is a reason there is more and we wont talk to them all too.
3. As for distance form nearest pony settlement. I'm not sure actually. Close enough to some out of the way town for word to spread and eventually reach the ears of certain ponies.
I think they should stay human, so they could be together quicker and easier to identify
I think it could potentially be kookier if you turn them into ponies, however I could defiantly see it being kooky either way so I don't think you could really go wrong either way.
