    Method of pony

When I first started drawing pony, I tried to stay close to the show's style. I also started drawing pony when I was still making tiny pieces of art on 2.5x3.5 inch cards. With Pen and copic markers.

    So... okay Hi guys!

I have no idea how many of these I will keep up with but hey ho I figured I'd introduce myself properly.

Hello there! I'm Foxena, most people just call me Fox, or Miss Fox. Either one is fine! Since I've had the name "Foxenawolf" since I was thirteen years old, over half my life practically, The name has evolved a bit to the point where I really just prefer "Fox."

So... okay Hi guys! · 10:13am Mar 31st, 2016

If you're here then you've probably been directed here by Calmwind or Goldfur of whom I almost exclusively do illustrations for. Both are amazing people to work with and I very much include Calm as a friend of mine. He's one of a handful of Gentlemen I can be catty around and just shoot the breeze.

So You might be wondering how a furry got into Pony. Or you're not, TOO BAD STORY TIME, HOOFERS!

I got into MLP FIM In the MOST SIDEWAYS APPROACH YOU CAN IMAGINE. So it's really no secret I'm a member of the Furry fandom. the fact my Icon is a Fox and not a pony, probably your first clue. The funny thing is NONE of my furry friends at the time even tipped me off to the fact that MLP existed. Season 1 had aired in full by the time I got into Pony, so I at least had an entire season of episodes to devour when it happened.

This is the funny story. I used to play warcraft, a lot. I was the member of a guild, I hung out in an RP channel. I had friends there, good times. So while I'm a-questing, gathering materials, all that good stuff, I realize the OOC Rp channel is BLOWING UP with talk about My little pony.

Now let me get one thing straight, All I knew about MLP up until this point was I owned a fair number of the toys when I was small, (still have my toy of firefly it's on my work desk) and I'd never watched the original 1980's run of MLP. Either it wasn't on when I was watching TV, I was watching the wrong channel or I would rather watch transformers. (I'm a tomboy, who knew.) So suddenly the guys and gals of my friend circle on the server start talking about, what I thought, was a show from the 80's.

Now, most of us are aged between 25-35 in this group, so all of us are relatively adults. I couldn't help but watch this conversation unfold, that 15-20 people, playing orcs, blood elves, trolls, tauren and undead forsaken. (FOR THE HORDE... ahem) Are talking about MY LITTLE PONY. You can imagine how I found this incongruous. Most of these people aren't furries for one thing.

Eventually I had to cut in. "Guys... why are you suddenly talking about a show from the 80s like it aired yesterday? I know for a fact most of you are guys..." "No no no Fox! We're talking about the new show." ".....what...." "Yeah friendship is magic!" "........... what..." "There's a new series and it's AWESOME."

After my BRAIN EXPLODED and got back together I decided I was going to have some fun at my friends expense. Because come on, a bunch of grown up adults were talking about what I considered the most sissified show from the 80s and they had REBOOTED IT? It couldn't have been all that great, I thought. Reboots tended to be awful when they happened and I had little to go on but that assumption, and also the dismaying possibility that my friends had really bad taste in entertainment.

"You mean to tell me a bunch of grown ass men playing trolls, orcs, zombies, minotaur and goblins, watch MY LITTLE PONY? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" "No Fox, seriously go watch it." "..... where?" (five people at once) "YOUTUBE!" "....... okay you know what fine.... don't knock it till you try it and all that. I'll go watch a few episodes... and then im going to come back and MOCK YOU." "You have to at least watch the first two, it s two-parter." ".... Oh FFS.... im going to mock you people so freaking hard."

*one hour and two episodes of MLP later*

"OMFG GUYS THAT WAS AWESOME IS THERE MORE?"

So that's the story of how I got into MLP. My furry friends let me down, but my Warcraft buddies had my back!

Also sadly no I don't play warcraft much anymore. I'm too busy with convention prep and whatnot these days to even game much anymore.

I'll write another one of these later with more entertaining things. And hey ask questions, I'll answer them! Like about art and stuff.

Until later hoofers!

Fox, out.

LOL, best story I've heard yet.

I grew up on Clifford and Blues Clues... that is when I watched TV at all, but I always collected the dolls for MLP, I'm something of a horse nut period. I lasted 4 years of only collecting dolls and playing the game on my tablet, then they added the Equestria Girls Dancing mirror... I was curious... I didn’t become hooked till Applebuck Season. That episode is the story of my life... and here I am. Who'd a thunk a country kid who would rather work than watch... or be inside period... would have over 200K pony words in a year after discovering the show.
