Plot

Spoilers!!!

The plot of this story revolves around a flaw within tbe TV show. While comically cracking jokes about the mistakes the writers of the show have made, the author develops the plot. Twilight, as an alicorn, is no longer seen doing heroic deeds. She discovers that Alicorns are cursed, by Celestia herself, to be completely useless in some situations to balance their power. After a fee laughs later, Twilight is turned into a Unicorn once more and uses a spell to move hwr wings to Celestia's body, prompting her to finally make a spell to stop the curse.

End of spoilers!!!

I found this to be extremely interesting. The concept was wonderful. In the Comedy and Random genres, a plot like this can be taken so many different directions, and the author has given us a plot that is intriguing, funny, realistic with Twilight's personality, and easy to understand and follow. While looking for issues, the only one that really popped out was the ability for Twilight to teleport every single one of her friends to their homes. Never before has she demonstrated this much magic in an event other than fighting a monster, and she would have no reason to do so here. That being said, this is extremely nitpicky.

Plot: 28

Characters

The characters did not really develop much here. No interesting relationships changed. In a story like this, it is to be expected, but one would also expect some sort of internal conflict where the author can take us into that character's perspective. While they were given a conflict, it was not as well illustrated in Twilight's mindset as it could have been. The characters were all well written, however, and stayed true to their original personalities.

Characters: 18

Grammar/Spelling

Only a few that I noticed, and I look way too hard.

Grammar/Spelling: 19

Structure

Well-paced; hilarious; easy to read and understand. No complaints here!

Structure: 20

Detail

The author could have improved, just a teeny bit, on describing the characters and setting through imagery rather than factual sentences. A tiny lack of "Showing" and a little too much "Telling". Understandably so, however, for a story of this nature, and because of this it can have some slack cut.

Final Thoughts

This was a fantastic piece of fiction. It had me chuckling the whole way, and as far as I know, the majority of readers have felt the same way! Please go give it a shot! Again, this is The Alicorn Curse, and it is completely amazing!
