ALRIGHT!!! The shortest Hiatus is OVER!!! New episodes, new adventures, lessons, characters and, most importantly, character development!!! Good boy! Okay, with everyone introduced, let's get to the point of this! How was the Season premiere? Good? Bad? Opinions?
Eh, it was okay. Though having a baby alicorn was kind of a not fair thing to do in some cases.
Care to explain? And Touka, Cruger does not taste like Hot Dogs. Trust me on this.

Okay so before the fifth Alicorn came into the picture. Twilight and Cadence earned their alicorn magic or whatever through some kind of trail or something. I wouldn’t mind Flurry being a unicorn and later on earning her alicorn magic in some kind of trail. But she didn’t earned them.
Hm… fair enough. I'm just quite surprised to learn that Celestia and Luna AREN'T born as Alicorns! Do you know what this means!?... THE FAUSTICORN IS ALIVE!!!

Sebaste and I had managed to see a few bits and pieces, but the bit with Flurry Heart was quite a shock.
Yeah, I was surprised to see an Alicorn born for this season, and apparently she’s got more power than a regular unicorn baby, case in point, she blasted through what, like 5-10 stories in the tower? That much power is even more than I’ve seen Celestia do! Crugar, what were your thoughts?
Yeah, this is why I’m extremely glad I came into the Diarchs’ lives after they were potty trained. Raw Alicorn magic plus newborn magic spurts equal major insanity. Although, leaving that aside, I have to admit, I’m looking forward to seeing more of her. Not only because of just Flurry Heart herself, although she is 15 metric tons of adorable in a 5 oz sack, but because that it will also allow us to see more of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. Those two need some more screen time and characterization, and parenthood is a perfect way to develop them. Especially if they need to do an official thing in Canterlot and need a babysitter, Baby Cakes version 2.0 anyone?

The bit that had me most surprised was when Twi’s parents actually had a speaking role! We’ve only seen them twice, the first time in A Canterlot Wedding PT 2, the second time in Magical Mystery Cure, this is the first time we’ve heard them actually speak!
I agree with that, but the part that I liked the most was two things… The first being when they showed Sunburst. I know that the first time we saw him, he was just a colt in a flashback scene… but now seeing him grown up, he just makes me think of a modern day Starswirl the Bearded. Second, there was Luna and Celestia… and the fact that they were actually helping this time around. Previous times, they either let the Elements take care of a global threat or had it all be focused on Twilight. Now I think they actually decided to pitch in and play their part. Your thoughts guys?
I only got to see bits and pieces because things got a bit crazy for me, but one other thing that stood out for me was Starlight. We know Twilight took her on as a student after The Cutie Re-Mark, but when I saw her, I was like, Are you kidding me?! The Mane 6 has effectively become the Mane 7!
They need a replacement Unicorn. And Starburst is a NERD!!!
Yeah, but given the fact that most ponies you see are female… seeing the fact that you got a few male characters to even out the gender factor is a bit new… Plus, did you notice how Spike was looking at Starlight before the train ride?
Yeah, I did notice that…. I have the feeling a lot of people are gonna be shipping them…

Well, that too, but I was talking about Twilight’s parents. Remember how I said earlier about a Baby Cakes version 2.0?

Who knows? Raising Flurry Heart might be a bit difficult given how they were chasing her all over the library. So it might be best to have all hands (or hooves) on deck.
Quite, and Flurry Heart would be the ideal way to introduce them. As I said, Baby Cakes 2.0, just replace the Cake Twins with Flurry Heart and Pinkie Pie with Twi’s parents. On second thought, a member of the Mane 7 should be there too, I’m thinking either Twilight or Starlight, maybe both, although I’ll never say no to some Pinkie antics.

One of the things that interests me was the weather in the frozen north, I usually thought the Everfree was the place to have weird weather…
True, but remember how Sombra closed off the empire when they explained it in season 3? Maybe it’s somehow referring to him? I’m not guessing anything, but I think they’re trying to go more in depth with the lore about the empire.
That is true… we still don't know much about the Empire, so this gives us more into how the Empire works…
To be honest, we actually have a perfect excuse to do that as well, Sunburst. Sunburst is confirmed to live in the Crystal Empire and have a penchant for books that rivals Twilight’s. And, since he’s also a confirmed friend of one of the main cast, it wouldn’t be too surprising if he came to visit. Also, about how Sombra closed off the Empire? I actually think he only did it indirectly. Think about it, massive snowstorms appearing at the same time as a lot of misery? Anyone else think that sounds familiar?

Exactly, Windigos feed on negative energy, and the Crystal Heart runs on positive energy. In fact, the Crystal Empire might actually be where the Hearth’s Warming story takes place, parts of it at least.
That's actually a good theory…. I’ve heard it once or twice, but I never thought of it that way…

Well, all we know is that Emily Blunt is going to be in it and all I remember her from was with that Tom Cruise Sci-Fi flick, Edge of Tomorrow… That was a damn good movie by the way… Only time will tell whether or not more details are revealed, but something tells me it might sound like a typical tuesday in Equestria.

Anyways, overall, what do you guys think of the season opener? I personally thought of it as a good way to kick off the season.
I like it...despite the new alicorn thing.

Starlight Glimmer and Flurry Heart, but oh man! Now I wanna know more on Celestia and Luna's past! Hopefully, we do learn about their origins, even if this is the potential last season.
Well, there are many Fimfiction stories that tell of their past, but they all vary in how they’re told. But I agree, hopefully we do learn more of their past… even if it rocks the pony fandom…

Well, they're the chapter that I'm the quickest to identyfy with. I mean I also like Blood Ravens but they don't have much in terms of unique battlefield doctrine - just Ultramarines with a few tweaks in the command chain and 20% librarians.
