Pony POV Minor World Building Avatars · 4:40am Mar 18th, 2016

Some minor world building for the Pony POV Verse regarding concepts and their Avatars.

While Draconequi and their detachment (their equivalent of avatars) are literally pieces of them they've disconnected from themselves, Alicorns and their avatars are different.

The more experienced and powerful an Alicorn is, the more powerful and capable of independent action the avatars they create are. But it's a balancing act along a double-edged sword.

The irony is that the LESS experienced an Alicorn is, and the less powerful, the LESS LIKELY their avatars are of becoming independent beings and thus acting in ways that are contrary to their Alicorn's goals or scruples. (This inverse rule is also why the avatar of Discord's Father could go rogue after getting drunk on too much fear and chaos).

-Celestia's avatars are normally at best automations with no imagination or independent thought whose programing is unable to handle unexpected situations.
-Cadence can only create one at a time, and even then, her real body is vulnerable since she has to control it directly.
-Luna is MUCH MORE talented, able to create avatars that are as much their own being as they are a part of her... this has the side effect of them having a stronger possibly of becoming independent of her commands and growing beyond her control. Like the Tantabus.

So, the Tantabus in Pony POV is an avatar that took it's "programming" too far? Huh. An organic version of the typical "AI goes rogue after gaining sentience and takes its programming too far." (AI Is A Crapshoot I think?) That's, actually kinda interesting. So the Tantabus is like Ultron but less amusing, arguably more dangerous, and with more of a nightmare theme. (I use Ultron because he's hilarious.)
