It's been a hard two weeks. · 4:05pm Mar 16th, 2016
I've gone through a lot of shit lately, and March is looking to be pretty shitty. Luckily, every dark cloud has a silver lining. My wonderful girlfriend Ava has been keeping me from going completely insane... again. I'm not sure I'd come back from another breakdown like that, but that's neither here nor there. What I posted this for was to talk to you about the stories I'm working on. After all, I don't need to be airing all my dirty laundry to you all. It's not your problem.
Painkiller Series: I'll talk about this one first, since I've been working on it the most recently. Fallen Angel is probably a quarter finished, and Moose will probably be editing it after I'm finished. I'm not going to pressure Moose with any sort of time limit as he has his own issues, so it may be a few weeks before the story's ready to be posted. Marking is working on the cover art for it, and it's fantastic! I saw the sketch, and wow! Just wow!
The Quest: This is what I intend to work on after Fallen Angel before I get to another installment of that series. I've had the next chapter halfway finished for some time now, but for whatever reason, I haven't been able to bring myself to finish it. I'll spoil this much though: there's going to be a lot of parallels with Tolkien's works in this chapter.
Let the Sun Shine: I am so so so sorry it's taken me so long to continue this story. I'm still writing up a new skeleton for it. I promise it'll be really awesome when it's finished, but for the rest of the story, I'm back to the drawing board, in a sense.
Please keep in mind that I do have a lot of life issues to get through, as well as a certain level of mental instability that sometimes leaves me incapacitated. I'm also frequently editing for Mistress Spectrum between writing my own stories. I know I'm slow, but if you're patient, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Each and every story is a labor of love, and I take my time to make sure they're perfect before you read them.
Well, Bassie, you come first and then your stories, so I only want you to work on these when you're able to because we can all have a little patience when it comes to your stories. Just take care of yourself, kay?
Seriously, do it.
Don't make me come over there.
3811104 You would never travel to another hemisphere just to make me take care of myself.
As 3811104 said, you come first, so take care of yourself, okay?
As much as I love your stories, they come second to you and your health, happiness and well-being. *hugs*
Besides, all good things come to those who wait, right?
3811183 *hugs* I'll be okay. I mean, everyone has bad days, sometimes weeks or months, right?
3811239 Good.
And this is true.
I'm just glad that you're okay. *hugs again*
3811278 I'm handling all the crap coming my way a lot better than I would have a year ago, so I suppose that means therapy is working. My psychologist was pleased with things on Monday, even if I was terribly angry at the world in the moment...
3811300 Well, good, I'm glad to hear that, hun.
*huggles*
3811476 You're a very huggy person, aren't you? Lol.
3811481 Yes. Yes, I am.
But then again, I come from a very affectionate-natured family, so I guess I come by it honestly.
Heck, my late mom was a hugger like you would not believe!
3811494 Lol. My mom was too. She was very open about everything. She was the kind of person you could talk to about anything, and I did. Losing her last summer was very hard.
3811135
Is that a challenge? Because I swear by Celestia's cake-powered ass I will find a way to you and smack you across the face with a fish!
3811512 Do it. You won't. I'll even message you my address, foo!
3811497 Yep, she sounds a lot like mine.
And I bet.
I (we; my sibs and me) lost ours back on November of 2012, and it's still hard, knowing that we can't just pick up the phone and say "Hi, how's it goin', Mom?" to her anymore.
It eventually gets easier, but it does take awhile for things to get back to what passed for normal when you loose a parent, or any loved one, like that.
Mom is Mom, ya know.
3811514
It... may take me a while, BUT I WILL. Then I'll tie you up in blankets and not let you go until I'm sure you're capable of taking care of yourself properly
3811517 The worst part is forgetting exactly how they sounded, or their smell, the way they laughed...
3811522 But I wanna' be a lazy little shit!
3811527
You can be a lazy little shit and still take care of yourself, you queef. I'm an example of that!
3811528 My problem is taking care of others instead of myself. Ask Ava. Something terrible happened to me, but I just wanted to make sure she was alright.
3811526 This is true.
I still pretty much remember how Mom's voice sounded, but my dad; that's a bit more of a toughie, as he's been gone since 1985.
(He died on Valentine's Day of that year, actually.)
Which is kinda why I'm no longer very fond of it.
3811534 I've never been very fond of Valentine's Day, because I always wind up alone on that day. For example, I spent all day in my PJs in front of a computer with a pot of coffee and a whole lot of inspiration.
3811531
I can understand that kind of behaviour because I'd be a giant liar if k said I never did that, as well, which is why I must be extra adamant about you taking care of yourself for me!
3811540 Well, that sounds like a pretty good way to spend it, if you ask me.
3811574 But... Ah... Doing for someone else by doing for me... Everything I know is a lie.
3811579 I'd rather have spent it cuddled up under some blankets with a certain someone. Lol.
3811586 *nods*
3811688 Unfortunately, we had no way of communicating at the time, much less were we in the same area. Ah, c'est la vie.
3811691 Yeah, unfortunately, them's the breaks sometimes.
3811694 That's what I mean, though. I'm a hopeless romantic, but even while in a relationship, I manage to be alone on Valentine's Day. It's uncanny. My last name is cursed, y'know. It's the Sirmons curse.
3811584
More you're torn. Listen to me and help me by taking care of yourself it take care of yourself without listening!
3811712 It's hard to put myself first when those I love need help, but honestly, that's not even one of the issues I've been having this month...
3811699 That is weird.
3811716 All the men in my family have rotten luck. It's our curse. I've learned to live with it.
3811722 I see.
Well, that's lousy.
3812577 Lousy is my middle name. So, how are you this fine Thursday morning?
3812581 *chuckles* I see.
An odd middle name, but I've seen worse.
I think.
As to that, doin' fine. Been checking up on some stuff online, and the dog's driving me batty with his wanting to go outside so much (but he's an 11 year old Chihuahua, so I guess that sort of thing just comes with doggy age).
I'm hoping to get some more work done on my story in the next few days, and I hope to be able to get some drawing done today sometime.
Oh, and we're going to my grand-niece Maggie's band concert tonight, which is always fun.
Don't know for sure or not if it's their last one for the year, but I'm sure we'll find out tonight if it is.
March is getting close to the end of the school year, so it may be, but I dunno.
3812591 That all seems really fun, well except for the dog part. I'm on my lunch break from work. Luckily, I live just off base, so I get to go home for an hour.
For the record, my entire given name is actually Raven Tyr. Tyr being pronounced like tear as in tears of joy. I'm actually very much more Native American than I look. I went through a rite of passage and everything.
3812597 It is.
And Pedro (the name wasn't my idea; it was my brother's, who actually named him before I got him) can be pretty fun, except when he needs to go out to do his "biz".
He's hilarious when her starts running through the house at a dead run. He's even used the couch as a rebound when he turns, jumping up and bouncing off it to go in the opposite direction!
I swear, I'm gonna hafta get a Go-Pro, or some sort of video camera, to just catch his antics on. He can be a HUGE clown when he wants to be!
Really? That's cool.
And long lunches are good.
That is a really cool name. (My real name, not so much.)
And I hear ya there. I'm partly Cherokee on both sides of my family (Eastern on my dad's side, Plains (I think) on my mom's), but I look more like my German ancestors (also on my mom's side) than I do my Native American ones.
3812855 Chihuahuas are great. I've had several in the past. My grandmother bred them at one point, though we ended up keeping most of them anyway.
I'm 1/4 Iroquois, and I grew up with my grandfather, who's full blood. Technically, I'm entitled to blood rights, but I refuse.
Btw, did you see I commented on your user page?
3812919 Yeah, they are. Pedro's my first, personally, but an aunt of mine had two when I was a kid. Cool dogs, they are.
Hehe, I think that a lot of folks do that, not just your grandmother. They're just so adorable!
Really? Cool.
I really want to find out how much I actually have in me, myself. My youngest sister wants to get us into the tribal rolls for our aera, but I don't think she's had much luck, as yet.
Hmmm, I don't think I have yet. I usually just end up typing the site's URL into the address-bar, and getting to the site with that.
I will before long, though.
Dammit, I'm late. I missed all the fun.
3811528 That was the hardest I've laughed in a while.
3811714
Damnit, I never even knew you responded, I just thought you got busy or something.
3813973
I'm glad I could help with that
3813973 Well, the fun is never completely over.
3813975 ...Especially with this asshat involved.
3813041 That's the problem. They're so damn cute that you get attached to them.
Well, are you ever gonna' check your page and respond? Dork.
If you want to talk at all, feel free to shoot me a PM, but I won't get to it until Monday or late Sunday at the earliest. I'm going to be unavailable all weekend. I'm in the car now with some buddies of mine, and there's a total of 9 of us. We're going on a backpacking trip in the Appalachians. This is gonna' be a blast.
