DC Must Be Scared Shitless Right Now · 12:35am Mar 11th, 2016
Disclaimer: If you haven't seen the newest trailer for Captian America 3: Civil War then do not proceed. Or you can just watch the trailer right now.
The latest trailer for Captain America 3: Civil War was released earlier today and it is awesome. I thought the first trailer was good, but this was just awesome. I have always stated that I think that Marvel's Civil War will be better than DC's Dawn of Justice, and this trailer just enforces my original thoughts.
While both movies seem to have very similar plots of two heroes, or groups of heroes, fighting each other. I am in a firm belief that Civil War will destroy Dawn of Justice both critically and at the box-office. I believe that Civil War will have far more emotionally driven storytelling, and if you have read my last few chapters you can tell that I love emotionally driven storytelling. With two former friends becoming not just rivals (Cap and Iron Man have been rivals since the first Avengers) into full-blown enemies. While Dawn of Justice seems to turn into something along these lines of Batman gets pissed at Superman. The two fight a few times, I'm guessing two-three times. The fight between opens up the opportunity for Lex Luther to make Doomsday. Doomsday destroys everything and Batman and Superman are forced to work together, oh and Wonder Woman will be a Deux Machina saving their stupid asses. Batman and Superman will defeat Doomsday and the Justice League will begin somehow.
Don't get me wrong the ideas for Dawn of Justice are great, like Superman paying for his crimes of destroying Metropolis. Being one of the major criticism for Man of Steel, which I agree with to a certain extent. But that being said, that idea should be its own movie. Same with an origin story for Batman, as he seems to be a different version of Batman from The Dark Knight Trilogy.
All in all, I believe that Civil War will be both a better movie critically than Dawn of Justice as Marvel movies as of late have been more constantly good than DC's, and I also believe Civil War will do better financially. Civil War being the highest grossing film, only being beaten by maybe Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or Rogue One.
Oh, and did I also mention that Spiderman was in the trailer.
