Fucking God Dam Microsoft!!! (!!!Rant Warning!!!) · 11:15am Mar 10th, 2016
OK, I don't know if this has happened to anybody else, but today I got screwed over by fucking Microsoft. As some of you may know, Microsoft has released the windows 10 update, and me, I signed up for the upgrade, but kept it in the background for when I was ready to install it, which probably was going to be two years from now. However, for the past three days, I have had a yellow exclamation shield which tells me I have an update ready to install, but every time I shut down the computer, no update was installed.
Well, today, while I was fixing up my mods list for Skyrim, starts shutting down and installing a mod without giving me a warning. Now this has happened before, so at first I was worried...and then I saw the windows 10 logo. At first, I thought it was just a fluke, and then a screen popped up, telling me it was upgrading my computer to a new version of Windows.
Now before you start, I did not hit or agree to anything related to windows 10, so as far as I can tell, my version of windows just got upgraded without my consent. This is just...GRRRR!!!! I am fucking mad about this, I didn't want to upgrade, and from what I looked up it is a hell of a lot harder to downgrade back to a earlier version of windows then it is to upgrade, so I am stuck with this weather I want it or not, and its infuriating!
So as a warning to all those who are still on the fence about windows 10 but have the upgrade on stand by, be warned, it may decide to install itself without asking you, and you wont be able to do shit about it.
It should be really easy to downgrade, especially since it hasn't been a month yet. I had to do this for my home computer and it worked just fine.http://www.howtogeek.com/220723/how-to-uninstall-windows-10-and-downgrade-to-windows-7-or-8.1/

I have bean vary carful and worked around it to this point but and here is a warning to all.
I do not like they way this is being forced on all of us but at the same time it is free till June I think after that you have to pay for it and as I plan on going to the pro version free is way better.

in the long run this is what apple did years ago win 10 will be the last OS it will be just up dater versions from hear on out.
if I was you get your hooves on a prow key now before you have to pay for it.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that doesnt really stop it from happening again, and it could happen again, as I said before I got no warning at all when this started.
I have avoided Windows 10 on my tablet. My desktop is a hackintosh, but I use the tablet when I go places. I also happen to enjoy Kerbal Space Program, and am buildibg a custom "cockpit" style controler that interfaces into the game through an Arduino. Ever since Windoze 10, the driver has been borked, and it can't accept incoming packets over USB. People with certain 3D printers are havibg similar issues. Somethibg is wrong with some USB communications in 10. I'm divided. The tablet is not my main computer. Its technically not even mine. I bought it for my mother, but I still use it on the few times I decide to drive the two hours to the nearest maker space for one of the meetings of the robotics group I'm in.
Since developong my Kerbal controller is a top priority for me, its either update while I'm still able, or be able to still use the tablet for development.
Windows 10 still has enough issues, that I'm staying away, till the last minute. I feel your pain...

I wish I had the choice, it sucked, at least I haven't run into anything bad so far.
There is a way to stop Windows 10 from updating. I had to same issue that you had. My Windows upgraded me automatically to Windows 10 when I didn't want it to. After it did that I kept it for a little but it caused issues with my sound and stuff so I downgraded back to Windows 8.1. The way I got it to stop was by following these steps.
1) Make you sure you disable automatic updates. The reason that Windows 10 updated automatically is most likely because Microsoft pushed it out as a 'Recommend Update' (which is a bit shady in my opinion). To do this follow these steps taken from the Microsoft support site:
Source
2) Delete the update associated with Windows 10. When Microsoft first came out with Windows 10 they installed a patch to your computer when ever you reserved a copy. This patch is what allows them to install Windows 10 to your computer and is also the reason why you need to disable automatic updates because this update will keep installing and causing you issues. To delete this update do the following steps:
3) After this the final thing to do is to make sure that there aren't any leftover Windows update files that may cause issues. To do this do the following
This is the steps that I followed and it worked for me. If this confuses you try checking out this site here for more info. If you don't want to bother just stick with 10 and have fun with it.
I hope this helped!

Well so far I haven't had any issues with it, and I was planning on upgrading eventually anyway, so I'll keep it a little longer and see how things turn out.
