Avenging-Hobbits

A nerd who thought it would be cool to, with the help of a few equally insane buddies adapt the entire Marvel Universe (with some DC Comics thrown in for kicks) with My Little Pony...wish me luck

    Opening Commissions

I know it probably looks weird, considering my inactivity, but I figured I'd at least try to motivate myself into writing again by sprinkling in commission work. Also, I'm in a bit of a money pit, and will be moving relatively soon, so I figured I should try to supplement my income.

There's gold in them thar smut, after all.

Area Man Not Dead, Just a Lazy Bastard

Okay, I feel I should say that no, I am in fact, not dead.

    Sorry to disappointed.

Life has been busy, chaotic, and generally messy, but the good news is that since MLP is about to enter its final series of episodes, I figure I should just sit it out, and let the series end, before beginning my attempts to reboot any of my projects.

Perhaps I should undergo a reincarnation

Its been tugging at me, but I've been seriously considering of reinventing my account.

Basically, I'd create a new account, and then focus on that revised version of Harmony's Warriors I mentioned in my last blog post, and post it to that new account.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

First things first, I'm not dead.

I've just been working on other things, and generally trying to collect my thoughts regarding Harmony's Warriors, since I've hit a horrific dry-spell.

After much thought, and talk with the venerable and honorable nightcrawler-fan, I've decided it's best to do what's basically a low-key reboot/refurbishing of the Universe.

DC: J.K. Simmons to play Commissioner Gordon in Justice League · 9:45pm Mar 7th, 2016

Source

Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming DC Expanded Universe two-part Justice League film. This, of course, is not the first time Simmons has played a supporting character in a superhero film, as he was responsible for what is likely to be the definitive on screen version of J. Jonah Jamieson in Sam Rami's Spider-Man trilogy.

I love J.K. Simmons, and while I still hope to see him return to the role of J. Jonah Jamieson in an MCU Spider-Man film, seeing him as Commissioner Gordon is equally awesome.

Thumbs up on that from me.

Now i can't help to think of him saying: BRING ME PICTURE OF BATMAN (sorry ADD moment) yeah can't wait to him in the JL movie

So, first he was J. Jonah Jameson, then he was the Author of The Journals (Gravity Falls RIP), now he's Jimbo? Man, JK Simmons truly is a man of many talents.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS.:pinkiehappy:

Well I suppose that'll be kinda fun.

3796493 AND, he won an Oscar for playing the sociopathic, emotionally and verbally abusive band leader in Whiplash as well.

Simply put, he's made of awesome

I have to say this is one man of many acting talents to make a great impact on our current Pop culture of today. I mean just way to go on this new position in the comic book media of today.

Something tells me we'll see his Gordon like towards the early start of JL if we're lucky. ;)

As I said on a Facebook post, this is a great and very natural successor to Gary Oldman. Both guys have enough respect for their craft and these stories to take this character seriously, and I can see Simmons bringing a similar combination of grounded-ness but also levity that Oldman always excelled at, but in a different way. With Oldman, it worked so naturally because of his English heritage, but Simmons is a Rust Belt guy who grew up in Michigan and Ohio, and while many of his characters in the past have been very blunt and brusque, they also have a lot of personality which makes them stick out, and I think that's very ideal for Commissioner Gordon. He's not just a straight-laced cop, he's a guy with actual character and personality who stands out from the rest of Gotham's police force despite sticking to a very specific set of principles, and I imagine Simmons will excel in the role.

3796493 you forgot Tenizen in Legend of Korra

Spiderman, Gravity Falls, Kung Fu Panda 3, ... This dude can do no wrong.

3797507 wait he was in KUNG FU PANDA? WHO WAS HE? O_O

3802531 Kung Fu Panda 3. He's the villain.
