Why so long with the chapters? · 1:54am Mar 2nd, 2016
So, a new part has been published and I am very happy about that. It's been far too long. It's been some time, and I have finished the first portion of my Teaching English as a Second Language (Tesol) course the last couple of weeks. Recently some struggles have brought up something that I didn't know about myself, which is that I might be suffering of OCD. I have an obsession with doing things well. I will focus on one thing and strain my brain for hours on the proper means of doing things, trying to make sure it is perfect. In combination with ADHD, it means it takes forever to get through things. I think it has lead to some interesting plans for how I go about thinking and writing things, but it means it takes me a long time to get things published. I'm going to be fighting this the best that I can, but its probably going to be hard. I appreciate those who have liked Joker's Wild or favorited it. The support helps a lot. This is a problem that has come to a head and I can't ignore it anymore. I'm going into therapy for this, and hopefully I will be able to fight it better.
As for things with Joker's Wild. We have lots of fun things coming in the next bit. We have 12k more of chapter 3, and chapter 4 is already 27k strong, and counting. Hopefully I can get edits in more quickly than last time. The story is starting to get really revved up. I want this to be able to jump straight into the real stuff, instead of waiting 20 chapters to get somewhere. I want your interest from the beginning. This is an irreverent story of freedom in the wasteland, bindings of fate from the past, and the conflict between the two. The goal is to write something that strikes you as different from other FOE stories, but familiar enough that it is a good time. I work really hard on these. I am not perfect, but I try.
