Awesome New PoL Covers · 10:33pm Feb 29th, 2016
Hey everybody, I'm here to share with you some new covers that my friend Ruirik has made for several of the PoL stories thus far, with more likely in the works for the few major stories we haven't covered yet. They're pretty awesome; check them out!
This one's a play on the old coverart that I'd drawn a long time ago, but cleaned up nicely by somebody who can actually do that. It should still feel like the same old coverart that (I'm sure) you all know and love, just with a facelift.
The other two, on the other hand, are completely different:
I love this one. The windigo is fantastic for the central conflict of the story, and the two characters depicted inside... well, the more art I can get of that fight, the better. I still think it's my crowning fight in the entire series. Emotional, intense, and full of action. I haven't been able to capture anything like it since.
We had a little bit of difficulty figuring out what to do with this one, and in the end, we just decided to keep it simple. Celestia and Luna play an integral role in this story, so it only makes sense to include them in Hurricane's outline. While not as flashy or dramatic as the other two covers, I feel like it carries its weight well.
Then of course there are the other two covers that have been released for integral PoL stories:
This was the first one Ruirik did, as it's for his own story, but it does capture the horrors that Pathfinder went through in his adventures in the Red Cloud War. Out of the two parties (Hurricane's and Pathfinder's), poor Finder certainly had it worse.
And this one for LoyalLiar's big story has everyone's favorite undead-Elk-thing and a pony fighting a dragon. Also fantastic, really.
There should be a few more coming soon, and I'm sure you'll see them when they do. Sigur's A Song of Storms: Shattered Skies should be getting one that's the inverse of Wind and Stone (A griffon inside of a pegasus head, instead of a pegasus inside of a griffon head), and there are some more currently floating around for stories that haven't been written yet... but you'll see those when they're released.
