    The Economics of a Wasteland

    Well.

This is a long overdue post, isn't it? Looking back, I honestly can't believe it's been five years since the last chapter released, and, to get to the point straight away, WEcon is not coming back.

Wherein I admit I'm Terrible at Blogging Regularly

    I'm terrible at blogging regularly.

Really, I am. I know this, and every time I break silence to say "this time will be different," a small part of me knows I can't keep that up. And on top of that I know that back in October I promised y'all Chapter 17 would be out in November. Clearly, that never happened. So let me clear the air on one thing, absolutely and definitively:

Blogpost 6/26/2017 - Where the heck is Chapter 16?

A perfectly justified question and a complicated answer. As a short answer, Chapter 16 has been delayed by a huge project that Pipistrelle had to take on for work. I've actually seen how much of her time it's been demanding of her, and seen her work through most weekends for the past several months. Perhaps I could have tried to release Chapter 16 in a state without her going through the

Blogpost 4/10/17 - Breaking the Silence

Alright, remember when I said that I have a bad habit of keeping quiet if I have nothing to report? Yeah, that kinda happened for a bit there. I got crazy busy IRL (and also maybe a bit too absorbed into NieR Automata), but I return with good news! Chapter 16's draft is complete, and editing has begun!

    Blogpost 2/13/17 - 3 Years of WEcon

Holy shit, 3 years already. It's kind of amazing to me that I've managed to stick with this for as long as I have, and I have y'all to thank for it. Writing this story and seeing people actually enjoy it enough to talk about it in my comments section has been such an emotional rollercoaster, and I know it sounds cliche, but I really, truly cannot thank you guys enough for the joy you've given

Chapter 13 Update! · 3:43pm Feb 29th, 2016

Okay, so! Missed the blogpost last week, mostly out of having not much to report on, but all that has changed this week! I mean, sorta. I have an awful habit of missing scheduled updates when there's nothing to say, which I should really work on. Lots of stuff happened last week, from a slammed-as-hell work week (and getting a raise!!) to Patch 3.2 coming out for Final Fantasy 14, distracting me from writing after hours. Also I cranked out this short story in a few hours for a writing prompt contest (I chose the prompt "Tall Tale"). Didn't win, but I didn't expect to, I just wanted to crank something out while I was otherwise hitting writer's block.

But onto WEcon news: first round of revisions are finally done on Chapter 13, which actually has a proper title now! It's a bit of a weird one, but I like it a lot and I think it fits perfectly, though I'll be keeping it under wraps until the actual release because it has a different meaning in more casual speech. Kudos to Pipistrelle for the suggestion. She's recently started taking accounting classes and enjoying them, which amuses me to no end. Pip is my younger sister, and since I have a minor in business, and both of our parents are CPAs, I have on at least three occasions said to her in a grizzled, Scottish accent, "Yer an accountant, Harry."

I'm really happy with the rewrites so far on chapter 13, though. It still needs work, of course, but now it's actually sitting at a better length and the emotional content is more in line with where it needs to be.

I suppose that wraps things up for today. And by the by, I have a tumblr! If you have any questions or just want to kick me for not writing a blogpost update, feel free to do so!
