Deathblog -- Week of 2/26/2016

It wouldn't be 2016 without well-known people dying.

While most of this week's noteworthy deaths are politicians most of us have probably never heard of from countries around the world and European, Asian, and Middle Eastern businesspersons, directors, etc., that some of you may have heard of, as usual, this blog will focus on deaths I personally, and some of my friends and long-time associates, will recognize. This week's been a bit light on American, Canadian, and Mexican deaths outside of the world of politics and business, fortunately, but there've still been some that hurt.

Tony Burton, 78, American actor (Rocky, The Shining, Hook).
-- Best known to most of you as Apollo Creed's trainer Duke.
Sonny James, 87, American country singer-songwriter ("Young Love").
María Luisa Alcalá, 72, Mexican actress (El Chavo del Ocho, Dr. Cándido Pérez, Esmeralda).
