    Apologies for lack of Updates

As many may have become aware, aside from the latest chapter to I'm Peni Parker. What the FUCK? I haven't updated any of my fics since last week, despite saying in my latest update for Peni that i intended to return to posting fic updates.

We're back... but it's likely slow going.

So, in answer to the MANY people who keep asking when i'm going to update any of my fics despite my having a blog that explains WHY they've ALL been left unupdated over the last 3-4 months, my library is open again, so i should be able to finally get back to writing.

:facehoof:

I am shocked to learn about this.

Content creators are literally having their lives attacked because big companies are stupid assholes that don't care what they're doing is wrong.

Doug Walker, aka Nostalgia Critic, was the first to bring this to my attention.

The fact that big companies are doing this and even making money from it, taking it away from others who make their living of their content, is disgusting and morally wrong on levels i can't even begin to explain.

Lightning Bliss explained this in a way that made it even clearly to me, because there were some things i didn't realize Doug was talking about until she explained it.

I'm not going to go into big explanations myself, i'll let you watch their videos to hear them explain it far better than i can.

I has made me realize i am never going to make even a small amount of my living from my content though. Hell, i'm even scared to upload any new videos now, for fear someone's gonna use it as ammo against me that i won't be able to fight because of how the system is being abused.

I even have to original stories i was thinking of putting up as readings from back when i was in high school, cause, considering what i had to work with when i made them and they were my literally first attempts at readings of anything, i wanted to share it.

Now, i'm scared if i do, someone's somehow going to fight something to hold against me on them and i could lose my channel or maybe even worse.

So, to any who have read this and watched those two videos, spread the word. For all we know, it's only a matter of time before some douchebag decides to attack this site too for the same reasons they're attacking the content creators and i know there are some people on this site who make part of if not all their living from commission fics.

So, spread the word, everypony. we need to get this message loud enough to shut this assholes attacking content creators who are playing by the rules, just because they don't want to put in the effort to work with the internet and instead would rather cause misery for others so they can make an easy profit.

Doug's a good and funny guy. Seriously, the world is slowly going to hell.

This needs to be a movement, this needs to be brought to the attention of the masses. The good people of YouTube channels have been silent for far too long, and it is time their criticisms were finally acknowledged!

I can't say much about this topic that nobody else has, other than YouTube needs to get their act together, that companies and studios are allowed to do this is unfair and illegal, Hasbro is one of many who are involved in this menagerie of crap, I cite JanAnimations as a perfect example of fair use being stomped on. This has to end, and it starts with us.

YouTube is actually doing their best, but they're only a part of a major company. They stand almost no chance against like twenty other major companies with both the resources and the will to have a never ending court stalemate.

Take Konami, YouTube has goten many content creators works back on their site from Konami's copywriting everything that even puts a small blemish on their company. YouTube is doing something, but they can only do so much.

Now your example of JanAnimations. Hasbro has made a bad move there. Their cash cow kiddy show gaining a cult following is no small task, but they did it. If they left Jan alone, they might have made even more money than if they did what they did. The way I see it, all these animations are free advertising for the original works. I would be flattered if I was in Hasbro's shoes. Hell I'd even contemplate working with the animators for spin-offs. That would allow darker themes, as it wouldn't be allowed on the real show.

This is one of the reasons I admire Valve. They understand that they would be nothing without their fans. They even go as far to reward them for what they were probably already going to do anyway. (Saxxy awards, anyone?)

Now I'm off topic. My point is, try as they might, companies get away with all this moneywhoring because they can use that money to get out of the consequences. (Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.)

It's like our creative freedom's being taken from us.:facehoof: It's so stupid.

Youtube was created by the uploaders, for the uploaders. Just because the fat cats have userpages here (Youtube); doesn't automatically mean that they have entitlement of total control over this sites content: content that is entitled under the Fair Use acts as being in the free domain. Team Four Star at the beginning of every TFS DBZ Video (that has been uploaded ever since monetization became a thing) always begins with the following statement:
i.ytimg.com/vi/pqKPzYruPV8/hqdefault.jpg
And just last night, I find out that Team Four Stars' Youtube Channel got taken down by a copyright infringement that was issued by Toei Animation!!

If you go back far enough, this kind of bullcrap was being done 3 years ago with many channels that were being taken down over content that was about a game on a console system that hasn't been in production for over 15 years!!
