    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Birthday Bio Double Feature: Pizza Pockets (II) and Fudge Fondue · 4:07pm Feb 15th, 2016

It's inevitable that we all share a birthday with someone else, and it's no less true of twins--in fact, it's the truest statement for those of multiple births. And who better to star in my first double feature than the CheesePie twins? After all, best ship deserves cute babies, amirite? :rainbowkiss:

The day that Pinkie Pie gave birth to the twins was a thrilling experience. Cheese Sandwich had almost been late to the birth, returning home from a party as quickly as he could, and outright barged into the delivery room just as their firstborn son came out. Naturally, Pinkie had tossed confetti in celebration of the screaming newborn colt, much to the annoyance of the doctor and nurses. As the baby was being cleaned up, proud papa Cheese took one look at his son's color scheme, and named him after his Grandpa Pizza Pockets.

Pinkie gave birth to a daughter--who was named Fudge Fondue because she looked like a little tidbit covered in chocolate fondue-- soon after, though some complications put her into shock (naturally, Cheese panicked when that happened). As Pinkie was being treated and the doctors were making sure the twins were healthy, Cheese couldn't sleep out of worry for them.

It was a few days before they were all released, and the party pony couple threw a little welcome party for the twins, inviting friends and family in order to meet them. The twins were met with several adoring faces, ranging from the Mane Six, to the Cakes, to Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Pies, and to Uncle Tomato. Pizza happily cooed a greeting (and later spit up on all of his aunts and uncle), while Fudge got scared and wailed.

Pizza quickly developed a mischievous side, often getting into stuff (especially things in the kitchen) to see if he could get a rise out of his mother (or his father if he was home). Pinkie had to keep him on a leash, since he had a tendency to wander off; however, he has slipped out of the leash and Pinkie had to go and find him. Inheriting his mother's social nature, Pizza would always babble to strangers, though he'd get annoyed when his mother would interrupt him with chatter of her own.

Fudge was far more clingy, and didn't like strangers. She was more likely to be holding on to her mother's leg, thus Pinkie reasoned that she didn't need a leash like her brother when they went out. At home, however, she was a bouncy, giggling baby, more content with playing with her own toys than joining her brother in his escapades. The only mischief that she ever got into was messing with her dad's accordion. She liked her pacifier a little too much, ranging from sucking on it, sputtering into it, or chewing on it when she started teething.

Despite their differences, they were a duo, automatically turning to their twin when it came to playtime. The two toddlers ended up trying to start a band several times, using whatever toys were lying around the house and using them as instruments (hilariously, Fudge actually made music instead of noise). They often played with the Cake Twins as well; Pound would take Pizza flying, while Fudge became Pumpkin's dress-up doll.

As they grew older, they both observed their parents' antics whenever it was party time, and often tried to copy their dance moves. They also developed a sense not unlike Pinkie or Cheesy Sense, which they quickly realized meant it was their signal for their often traveling father coming home. Their infancy had no shortage of laughter, and their giggles were music to Pinkie's ears, as well as Cheese's. They enjoyed being babysat by any one of Pinkie's friends and visiting their extended family.

Soon enough, they started school. Fudge was really nervous about their first day, especially since poor eyesight made it so she had to wear big glasses and she had developed an overbite. Pizza quickly thought up a way to make her feel better--they both dress up like cowponies, just like Dad does! After all, he reasoned, Dad was shy when he was little, but dressing up as a cowpony made him feel braver and tougher! Fudge complied with the idea, and the duo ended up making a good first impression with their classmates, especially after being taught some tricks by their parents.

They attracted a lot of attention, which Pizza relished in. Fudge, however, was not too keen on being surrounded by so many ponies, and had to retreat elsewhere so she wouldn't get overwhelmed. This ended up causing a bit of a rift between them as Pizza spent huge chunks of his free time with new friends and practically ignored Fudge, which went on for a few months before Cheese stumbled upon that very scene when passing by the schoolyard. He was quick to take Pizza aside and tell him to make some time for his sister and see if there are any bullies bothering her. Pizza checked on his sister, and was furious when he found some of the other foals teasing Fudge for the very things she was insecure about. He chased them off, even punching one kid in the muzzle (Pinkie and Cheese were not happy when they found out he did that). After that, Pizza was more careful in making sure that his sister was all right, and balanced his time with both his sister and his friends.

Whenever Pizza would be hanging with friends outside of school, Fudge was usually practicing whatever musical instrument she took a fancy to or hanging out with Pumpkin Cake, Fluttershy, or Sweetie Belle if she was in town (she was busy with her talents of helping ponies understand their cutie marks... and singing). Pumpkin was practically her big sister, Flutters was her favorite babysitter whenever her parents were busy, and Sweetie Belle was eager to share her love and knowledge of music with a curious younger filly.

Likewise, if not with his buddies or his sister, Pizza was with his big brother figure, Pound Cake, or in the kitchen, looking through the fridge and spices. He was often a hungry colt (and a bottomless pit like Mom), and if nopony was home, he'd be taking a crack at making something. Pinkie usually came home to find he made a mess.

When the twins turned eight, their mother surprised them with a big announcement: she was pregnant. The two were excited for the arrival of their new sibling, though they had some squabbles over whether it'd be a filly or a colt. It was November when their baby brother Rocky Road came into the world, and the twins adored him, despite his more serious demeanor.

In his continued experiments in the kitchen, Pizza was trying to make a dish that would come out without getting burned, melted, on fire, or even exploded. He was even trying to keep his messes down to a minimum. Though his mother could cook just fine (even though they tended to come out a little too sweet for his taste), he wanted to learn to cook for himself so that whenever she wasn't home, he and his siblings wouldn't go hungry (his father couldn't cook, and caused disasters worse than Pizza did). He was ten before his finally made a perfect pizza, which he served his whole family. He got excited when he heard the delighted "Mmmmms" of his family, declaring success and triggering the appearance of his cutie mark.

Though most ponies assumed that the twins would get their cutie marks at the same time, Fudge was still a blank flank for a while. She felt inferior to Pizza, especially after hearing stories of foals who drifted apart because one got a cutie mark and the other didn't. Seeing her daughter being unhappy, Pinkie attempted to teach her a thing or two. She had suggested baking, which was the obvious counterpart for cooking, but Fudge wasn't really interested in being a baker. She did make a couple of sweets, but ultimately no cutie mark for something she didn't have a passion for.

Sweetie Belle offered to help her find her mark, and Fudge was made a Cutie Mark Crusader. She didn't like being made to do things she had no interest in, but frankly, if she wanted to have her cutie mark, she figured that she needed to try new things. Most of those new things didn't quite work.

At the age of eleven, she was visiting Fluttershy when some of the animals were getting rowdy. With Flutters busy with another group and nopony else around, Fudge was quick to think "music soothes the savage beast", and used rocks, sticks, and timed with the wind in order to make music. The animals settled down to listen to her tune, and once she was done, they were quite friendly with her. Fluttershy arrived on the scene, asked how she did it, and her answer brought upon the appearance of her cutie mark. When Fluttershy pointed out the mark, Fudge scared her with a Pinkie-like level of excitement.

With both twins having their marks, they were ready to develop them further. Pizza was apprenticed with one of the chefs at one of the restaurants in town, and Fudge went around town to fellow musicians, learning more about each instrument and how they were played. They practiced their talents at home for their mother (and father when he was home) and little Rocky.

Age thirteen had them welcoming another brother, a unicorn that Pinkie named Berry Blast, who made Pizza's mischief look tame in comparison to the disasters that Berry caused with his horn. It was also the year that Fudge, frustrated with her buck tooth blocking her progress in brass and woodwind, demanded that her teeth be fixed. She got braces, and had to stick with string and percussion instruments for a while.

When the twins were sixteen, the family welcomed "pegasister" ("Mom, that's a horrible pun") Cheesecake Chase, who turned out to be pretty rowdy herself. Pizza Pockets took to teasing Rocky Road, who did not appreciate being noogied or poked fun at. He was also clashing with his father, due to some built up anger over Cheese having to be away for much of the time. It was usually the little things that set him off whenever Dad was home, which made him a minefield. It went on for a couple of years before Pizza released a tearful spiel about how he felt unimportant to his own father, who was off throwing parties for strangers.

Cheese had been quiet during the rant, and when Pizza had finished, Cheese could only pat his back and quietly say "I'm sorry", unsure if any other words could even make his son feel better. He tried to fit in more father-son time after that, though Cheesy Sense still demanded his travels.

Fudge got her braces off when she hit eighteen, relieved that she didn't have a big tooth hampering her musical abilities with certain instruments. And thus, she continued expanding her already wide range of musical knowledge.

Both Cheese and Pinkie were amazed at how time flew by, and their tiny twins were suddenly a full grown mare and stallion. Cheese felt guilty for missing many of their milestones, especially after Pizza let him know just how he felt about that. Nevertheless, he was still proud of his eldest son and daughter, becoming great and upstanding citizens of Equestria, with Pizza opening a pizzeria with some friends (of course, Uncle Tommy was happy to help and give them pointers), and Fudge teaching music to foals, whether they were strangers, cousins, or the children of some family friends.

It won't be long before Pizza gets a business rival that he ultimately falls in love with (haven't got a concrete idea of who she is yet), and Fudge develops an interest in the adventurous son of Pinkie's friends Sugar Belle and Party Favor, Balloon Buddy.

The twins often help their parents throw a big party, with Pizza catering and Fudge providing much of the music. They also have to keep their younger siblings out of trouble (well, not Rocky, since he's the reserved one... it was Berry and C.C. they had to look out for).

All in all, they're a happy family.
