    Daily wordcount script

Disclaimer: This is mainly for me to keep this at hand and not lose it.
This is a small, simple script that registers the total wordcount in a determinate folder per day. The output format is a space-delimited CVS file:

    64487 04/04/2016

The full script, which for now is a .bat file, is:

    LORE: Moons.

Two or three months ago, while I was writing something and someone mentioned months.
"Hey!" said the little voice I've come to love and hate "Moons dude! They say moons!"
I punched the little voice in the face and went to work on it. The result was this. Start reading in the lower right corner.

Second divagation on A Mare and Her Dog.

EDITED: Oh god the orthography was horrible. This was what happens when I forget to use the spellcheking.
(Hey, I could whine about this once a month! Yay!)
I take a little pride on being able to have somewhat original, yet sensical plots.

    Writing guides

For various reasons, I decided to make this to compile writing guides of various kinds. If you want something added, leave a comment or send me a PM about it.

    Show related writing guides:
(Guides that are completely pertinent to the show, and have little application outside it)

Second divagation on A Mare and Her Dog. · 3:53pm Feb 15th, 2016

EDITED: Oh god the orthography was horrible. This was what happens when I forget to use the spellcheking.

I know its not much, yet there it is in a corner, like that "You tried!" trophy for the spelling competition you entered out of a whim a few years ago, with a convenient "I don't care that much about it" kind of dust layer over it. Its that kiss in the cheek you can't forget for whatever reason. Its a small pride most people don't even bother to mention, to put it shortly.
Yet with A.M&H.D. I am facing a complication that, once I again, I should have predicted:
Day to day. I have to keep things fresh, half for my pride and half for Tom. Because for how long can you extend "Applejack walked making chit-chat with the zebra"? At the same time, how far can I go with day-to-day events being interesting and unique? Because rain is only interesting for so long, and all-out crazy like three crazy buffalos bisons should be reserved to only happen every once in a while. And I am already pulling too many outright crazy characters[1] in the road. The planned quota was a top of one per week.
In short I'll have to put their arrival to Surane sooner than I planned to (It'll be in two or three chapters, when in fact I had expected to have it at the start of the next month[2]) because events- wise I am grasping straws right now, while I actualy have things planned for Surane. I guess Quibra will have to appear between Surane and the forest, rather than here :ajbemused:.
You know the annoying thing about this? At a large scale, I have the plot, Applejack's character arc from here to the end (I have had it planned for around a a month now) mostly made out, and geographically-wise, sociopolitically-wise, and landscape-wise I have two countries after Surane done. The day-to-day is the part that is applying kinetic force in my genital area, for reasons already explained.
Generally I am a creative person, as I already said, but my creativity gets the best of me sometimes and oh god why did I think having three horse stories and two original fiction ones in the planning at the same time would be a good idea. My Applehorse Adventure batteries will be reloaded by the time AJ is out of Surane, I think.
Also, I may change the narrative rhythm while in plot-zone, because in plot-zone 30K words happen each day. I'll name the chapters "[Chap. Number], first/second half/quarter of the Day" or something like that if it happens.

[1]: To be fair, of the main six AJ seems to be the only fully sane one, and that's why I find it fun to put crazy people around her. That's also the reason the writers don't really know what to do with her in cannon: Fluttershy has her "Gotta be less shy", RD her "Gotta be less of a cunt", etc. AJ, in comparison, lacks a easy go-to arc to address once or twice per season.

[2]: One of my goals with this was having a realistic approach to a travel's timescales, but sadly that includes weeks upon weeks of nothing. I am getting cabin fever at writing it.
