Wow! As I near my three year anniversary on FIMFiction, I have finally passed the 1,000 followers mark. I am, officially, horse famous now, and the 187th most followed person on the site.

I’m glad all of you folks have been enjoying my stuff and following me over the years. From my first story, Crêpes, a multi-chapter RariJack story kicked off by a discussion about food items that Rarity and Applejack might enjoy together, where a discussion about food ends up kicking off the pair spending some extra time together, slowly leading to romance, to…

Ice Cream Sale

Comedy, Romance

Vanilla oat swirl ice cream is a girl's best friend when she's alone on Hearts and Hooves Day, and at half-off, it would be a shame not to buy any. But when Rarity runs into Applejack at the store, Applejack offers to keep her company.

Rarity is thrilled that she has someone to commiserate with about being single.

Applejack is happy to have a date for Hearts and Hooves Day.

This may be a problem even vanilla oat swirl can't solve.

My God. :applejackconfused:

Ah well, at least they’re entirely different genres. Well, half different, anyway. :trixieshiftright:

More seriously, I’d like to thank everyone who has been following me.

I’d like to thank all the inveterate shippers, without whom all my stories would have viewcounts like The Legend of Falling Rocks, Buffalo Brave. From the RariJack folks who climbed on board with me at the very beginning with stories like Crêpes and Temptation to stories of more recent vintage like Apple Shampoo, to the FlutterDash folks who enjoyed The Stolen Date and who I more recently teased with the promise of more with The Perfect Cure for the Common Cold, to the RariDash shippers who read The Wraith of Ponyville and have been waiting two and a half years for more… thanks.

And that’s not even mentioning the Twilestia folks who hopped on board after Forever and Again and Again, or the various folks who followed me for my last major seasonal shipping story, Mistletrapped.

Don’t think I’m done with any of those ships; there is more coming for all of them soon, and more besides. I’ve got more Twilestia, FlutterDash, TwiDash, RariDash, TwiJack, AppleDash, RariLight, and of course RariJack all coming on down the line.

And I swear, Shotgun Wedding is going to get finished one of these days. Really.

I’d like to thank the folks who have enjoyed all of my comedies. I enjoy writing funny stories about ponies, and while Better Lairs and Landscaping, my first full-bore comedy about how Tirek’s free subscription to Better Lairs and Landscaping magazine nearly destroyed Equestria, ended up not getting very many views, later pieces like Apple Shampoo proved that I knew what I was doing (or at least, that no one noticed I was doing it wrong), and Dying to Get There ended up being a major hit. I am very proud of that story, and I’m glad so many folks found it and decided that they wanted to see what else I would produce. Thank you all for giving me a chance. I have been on a bit of a comedy kick of late, from Hearth’s Warming Turkey, my only Pinkie Pie and Scootaloo story, to the more recent I Have This Friend and The Wishing Pool, both of which drew in a bunch of folks who wanted to see what else I’d make.

Writing stories which incorporate comedy is always fun to me, and writing straight-up comedies can be a great deal of fun. I’m glad you think I’m funny – or at least, funny enough to keep an eye on me. I’ve got a bunch more stories along these lines planned, from an upcoming footnotes comedy about Prince Blueblood getting married, to a story about Twilight and Rainbow Dash trying to figure out why Zecora rhymes every time, to a story about what happened to all of Chrysalis’s faithful and totally competent changelings after the Green Wedding, not to mention more RomComs, including the one I’m working on right now, and a story about Twilight finding a spell that tells her exactly when she is going to meet her true love.

I’d also like to thank all the folks who have taken to stalking me for the drama.

The dramatic stories, that is. :trixieshiftleft:

The Stars Ascendant was my first story to really hit it big, but after dipping my toe in the genre, I decided I really liked it. While not every drama I’ve written has been as popular as my first one, I’m still glad that folks have continued to read along and enjoy my stuff, from my historical fictions about Celestia and Luna raising the Sun and Moon for the first time, to more philosophical pieces, like Why Don’t You Tell Them?.

I’m glad you folks have found my pony drama interesting, and I’ve got several more stories in the pipeline for you folks as well. From No One Will Notice, a story about Twilight asking Luna if she can practice moving the heavenly bodies with the Moon because no one will notice if anything goes wrong, to My Fluttering Heart, a story about why Princess Flurry Heart was born with wings, to My Faithful Students, a story about Celestia’s many attempts to find Twilight Sparkle over the centuries, and many more, I hope you folks find them interesting.

And of course, I’d like to thank everyone who followed me for my reviews, or for my blog posts. Reviewing stories has not only been a way for me to encourage myself to read more stories, but also to think about what makes stories work and not work. Thinking about stuff critically has helped me better understand how to construct stories myself.

Plus it has played the important role of helping me hone my ability to hate everything. :moustache:

I’m grateful to all the folks who have chimed in over the last year and a half and said that my reviews were useful to them for finding new stories to read.

Really, I’m just glad that I’ve managed to produce stuff that so many folks have found interesting. I’m glad that so many of you have commented on my stories, interacted with me on forums, chatted with me on Skype.

I’m happy that I’ve met so many great writers; both folks whose writing has inspired me, and folks who have directly helped me become a better writer myself. All the folks who have helped edit my stories, or written me feedback; told me what made them laugh, or what made them wince. The folks who have told me I’m great, and the folks who have said that I can – and should, indeed, must – do better.

To everyone in the FIMFiction community, even folks who aren’t following me: thank you. It has been a fun three years.

Now, it is time for me to get back to writing. Ponies don’t just kiss each other on their own.

(Wonders if the laughs would be worth it)

Congrats on the followers. Jesus I'm lagging behind.

Congratulations! :yay:

Was wondering when you'd get around to hitting four digits. Congrats!

Two people already had that idea :V

It's alright. I'll get 'em back.

3755274 Ha. For the record, I didn't actually do it.

3755214
I'm sure you'll catch up eventually if you keep writing. :raritywink:

3755306
Doubtful. My genre's pretty niche. Ah well.

ohhhh! :O eat dem ten places, sucka! V:<

3755739
We'll see how well the gap holds. My present plan is to release about a story per week. Of course, goodness knows how well I'll keep to that, especially with Ice Cream Sale eating up a bunch of time this week.

But still. YOU'VE GOT A TARGET ON YOUR BACK SIR.

Ponies don’t just kiss each other on their own.

The shippers motto!

Yeah, I don't really do anything to garner new followers. :B

Ponies don’t just kiss each other on their own.

Sure they do, a writer just needs to catch them in the act :trollestia:

DRAGON FOR PRESIDENT 2016!

[Seriously, congrats and you earned it.]

Thanks! I'm pretty happy to have passed that mark.

Sadly I haven't published a whole lot since I crossed the line, but I've got another story en route soon, hopefully.

3792086
I'm always behind on stories, so I never hold a lack of publishing against authors.

Also, I actually checked that statistics page, and it looks like you got here by averaging just under a follower a day for three years. No idea how consistent it actually was, but kind of a neat progression.

3792105
Yeah, it is amazing how much time can do for you.

I had 6 followers when I published my first story in August 2013. I've been averaging a bit better than a follower a day recently, though really over time it varied immensely; the more followers you have, the faster you gain them passively, whereas actively gaining followers by publishing seems nearly constant.
