Every Page a Painting - Walls of Words

Yup, hello, it's me, back on my typesetting binge again, with another "Every Page a Painting" to show you. And boy oh boy, do I have a real treat for you this time around: one of my favorite novels on this site, one that hasn't been typeset before. . . well, until now, of course.

Every Page a Painting - By Any Other Name

First of March, it's clear to me
    There's something that's uncomforting. . .

Here I am again, about a fortnight after the first "Every Page a Painting", locked and loaded with a second one, whether you wanted it or not. Enjoy.

Every Page a Painting - Click, Clack, Neigh

I know, I know, it's quite bold of me to publish this on Valentine's Day of all days, but here it is all the same.

If you don't like the timing, just come back tomorrow. I'll wait.

If you're still here and you don't care about when you'd get this, all I can say is buckle up.

(Disclaimer: everything you see here is work in progress and subject to change.)

Ah yes, my hundredth blogpost on Fimfiction.

I know I should try to find one single topic to spend it on, but I've got several going through my head and only one milestone to do it in, so. . . what the hell, I'll just talk about all of them.

Buckle up; this is a certified Anthology Blogpost.™

Three Stories and a Holiday · 3:05pm Feb 14th, 2016

Hello!

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day, whether you have a date or not (like me).

I just have a few updates to tell you about my stories.

First off, The Blue Rose.

You've probably noticed I've been working slowly on it-- there's a three-month gap between updates, about. Now, I want to get this epic fully written by July of this year (in time for the next BronyCon).

So here's what I've done: Every Thursday and Friday, I'll sit down and write ten stanzas-- or until I reach the end of the canto, whichever comes first. In this way, I'm already a little over halfway through Canto IV, so expect that next week. And afterwards, expect fortnightly updates.

Also, Xaquseg's blog post showed explanations of the various genre tags Fimfiction uses. That got me thinking-- should I add the Thriller tag to The Blue Rose? I'll let you be the judge.

In regards to my new translation project, I'll have you know that I'm working through an Esperanto translation right now. Albanian is on the way. Kēlen and Lojban if I can be bothered (I most certainly hope so).

That's all coming to you next week (the blog post for the story might be on Saturday, though).

Also, I've written a story for Valentine's Day.

If you don't know who Badumsquish is, he's an artist on Derpibooru who makes the most dead-on show-style-accurate images I've ever seen. Even though he "makes the god-damned weirdest porn", he also makes some nice SFW stuff, too.

Like this:

This is one of his many, many object-based OCs, Ginger-Bread. Source

In fact, I took that same OC, and made a 2nd-Person AiE story about her. (Don't worry, you're not Ginger-Bread.) I'll slip this into the queue, and hope it comes out today. (If it does, I'll tag that story with this blog post, so keep an eye out for that.)

UPDATE: It's out; I blame Obs.

Lastly, for Valentine's Day, I've written a sonnet:

Winter'd-Heart-Mine

A blizzard rages in this winter'd-heart-mine--
Constant axe-chops, ne'er ending for a day.
Outwards a clear sky, within clouds of gray.
All the world seems to me to be malign,
Especially on the miserable Day of Valentine.
Refuge from the æternal storm daily I pray.
But that changes when I meet her-- I say!
When I meet her-- the female of great design.

She says, "Have you noöne on this date?"
I tell her, "Why ought I to have anyone?"
Her sole response is just to hold me fast.
At first I protest, telling her too little too late.
Two lips quiet-- and my storm is finally done.
Winter'd-heart-mine! --Spring has come at last.

I do hope you enjoy it.

Well, that's all I've got for today. So I guess I'll see you next week with the translation project and Canto IV!

Good night, and good luck.
