Happy Valentines Day You Horrible People

Ok, first of all, I know a lot of people hate Valentines Day. I can see their point. It's commercialized, it focuses on couples which singles out the...singles, it makes showing love for someone an obligatory one-day thing, it's childish and dumb and pink...

But I'll let you in on a little secret:

I.
Fucking.
LOVE.
Valentines Day.

I use this day to tell everyone, usually in a drunken, overenthusiastic, and obscenity filled way that I care about them. Friends, significant others, just everyone. I do the candy thing, flowers, I make my own cards, I dress up. Seriously, I REALLY love this dumb holiday. So, for you guys, I wrote a thing. And...it's probably not what you'd expect.

The story that will go live probably later today is sad, it's a romance, it has non-kinky sex, and it has no punchline. It's also...15k words in length. Yes, I'm serious. But I hope it makes you feel something. The story is a little personal to me given some of the themes, and though it is AiE, it's from a pony perspective. Anyway, we'll see how you folks like it. I know it's not my usual fare, but this is a special occasion. It's fucking VALENTINES DAY!

To be honest, I'd be extremely astonished if I actually received a valentine from anyone, at this point.

I'm used to getting anything but love or kindness from people outside my immediate family. Hell, insults or hate feel more natural than love, these days. But then, hate and insults tend to be straightforwardly honest, while love and kindness are dodgy and evasive.

I wish I could get away from this cause everywhere I go, I see couples everywhere happy or doing things together and I'm by myself since no one likes me. It hurts my gut somewhat, but I can deal.
